    Looks like you are making great progress through 2024. I hope you make a wardrobe Notion template. I recently had my colors done so I have changed up my wardrobe alot. I would love to keep track of it in Notion. I know you mentioned you journal at night now when you journal. Are you journaling in your Hemlock and Oak or another journal?

    I'd love to create one to share! I didn't have my colors officially done, but narrowing down my palette to the season I think I'm in, did help me choose clothes for the first capsule. I totally forgot to mention how I'm journaling! I'm just using a blank, lined notebook for now.

    Hi! Can you walk me through how you embed? You may need to put in /linked view of database and select the brain dump database for it to appear on other pages. Thank you this is so amazing. Your Bill tracker has already come out and that is amazing too! If I needed to add additional cycles (ie weekly, bimonthly) is it fairly simple as in just add these to the formula? I was confused about the additional "if" statement as well and wondered if this would need to be part of these added cycles. Thank you!

  • @KalynBrookeCo
    @KalynBrookeCo10 күн бұрын

    I'm so glad you've enjoyed the videos! You can definitely add additional cycles. For a weekly cycle, you would add this to the formula: Cycle=="Weekly", dateAdd(Start Date, dateBetween(now(), Start Date, "weeks") + 1, "weeks") And then with bi-monthly, you'll add 2 "months". Technically, you don't need the extra "if" as long as you are starting with "ifs", so you can continue the formula as long as you want. Just make sure the last part of the statement always says what happens if none of the previous IF statements are true (which in this case, would default to the Month cycle, because we never called that out). Example of adding a weekly cycle into the formula: ifs(prop("Cycle")=="Annual", dateAdd(prop("Start Date"), dateBetween(now(), prop("Start Date"), "years") + 1, "years"), prop("Cycle")=="Quarterly", dateAdd(prop("Start Date"), dateBetween(now(), prop("Start Date"), "quarters") + 1, "quarters"), prop("Cycle")=="Semi-Annual", dateAdd(prop("Start Date"), dateBetween(now(), prop("Start Date"), "years") + 1/2, "years"), prop("Cycle")=="Bi-Monthly", dateAdd(prop("Start Date"), dateBetween(now(), prop("Start Date"), "months") +2, "months"), prop("Cycle")=="Weekly", dateAdd(prop("Start Date"), dateBetween(now(), prop("Start Date"), "weeks") + 1, "weeks"), dateAdd(prop("Start Date"), dateBetween(now(), prop("Start Date"), "months") + 1, "months"))

I still have Notion connected to Morgen for projects though. Morgen also just added 2 way sync for Notion and Todoist as of 6/15/24 which has greatly improved how time blocking works.

    Hi! I've been following your channel for a while, you've introduced me to Notion! I've been using YNAB for about 2 years now, and I love it! Question, why do you cross reference your targets in Notion instead of using YNAB targets? If those targets don't change regularly, you could add some periodic reconciliation between YNAB targets and Notion targets, if you like seeing them in both places!

  • @KalynBrookeCo
    @KalynBrookeCo23 күн бұрын

    I'm so glad you love Notion (and YNAB!) You can definitely use YNAB targets to track how much you want to set aside for that category for the month. I like to see them separately because I combine a lot of my YNAB categories into main categories in Notion. Example: "Health Insurance" in Notion rolls up insurance from our monthly health insurance and annual dental insurance, so I can see how much I spend per month on Health Insurance (which includes the monthly breakdown of dental), but I keep separate categories for those in YNAB because I pay one monthly and the other I build up throughout the year to pay annually. The category of "Subscriptions" is the same category in Notion and YNAB, but I wouldn't know how many subscriptions make up that category unless I track it in Notion. Currently, I have 10 subscriptions, so if I need to cut back, I can look through my list and see what I can cancel. It's definitely not necessary to keep them in Notion and YNAB, but it works for my brain! :)

    This is awesome! Thanks for all the great tips, inspo & templates! One question though. I came here from your "best of digital & paper" hybrid planning video and was wondering if you are still using paper at all or are you totally digital now? Just curious bc I've been completely digital for the most part when it comes to planning, and have been thinking lately I want to re-incorporate paper planning again, but not sure if that's the right move or not. I still have to fill out the match guide to see what would work best for me, but was curious where you were at currently with paper planning and how that fits into all of this if you are still using it. I know in that video you also mentioned Google Calendar and now you're using Morgen, so thought maybe you stopped paper planning too. Either way I hope you are doing well & thanks again for all the awesome resources & information <3

If you grab my Six-Week Sprint Goal Planner (kbcreativeshop.com/products/notion-six-week-sprint-goal-planner?variant=44599916560551), you should be able to reverse engineer it. Basically, I roll up entries from both database to a separate "tag" database where I apply that tag to every calendar week and journal entry. Then I use a Week No. formula on both: formatDate(prop("Date"), "W") + " | " + formatDate(prop("Date"), "Y") Then I write another formula to pull the week entry that has a week no. that matches the day.
