EDIT to my OP: You can see here the extra difference in midrange punch the Wind* 3.8 gives you & the extra low end torque the 4.2 V6 gives you. I recommend just doing an F150 4.2 swap because its already in a RWD configuration. You can increase midrange and top end on the 4.2 noticeably by adding a true dual exhaust. Doesn't have to be loud to be functional, just true duals + one h pipe + 2 mufflers, that should add atleast 10hp/10tq, use a CAI and add another 5hp/5tq. That extra torque is what will propel that car forward harder after you upshift on WOT. These are large pushrod engines, no need to rev to 6,000rpm when the horsepower peak is at or below 5,000rpm you're just hurting acceleration because you can't get a bite outta that meaty torque band. Also, the Wind* engine is slightly different internally than the Mustang 3.8 so swapping the intake doesn't do much. It's just as useless as swapping an SVT 2.5 intake onto a non SVT 2.5 engine. Use the 4.2 with true duals. You'll thank me later. 1999 Mustang 3.8 V6 190hp @ 5,250rpm 220tq @ 2,750rpm 1999+ Windstar 3.8 V6 200hp @ 4,900rpm 240tq @ 3,750rpm 1996-1998 Wind* 3.8 V6 200hp @ 5,000rpm 230tq @ 3,000rpm 1999 F-150 4.2 V6 205hp @ 4,800rpm 250tq @ 3,400rpm

Does that intake on your engine have any advantages over the stock one?

I’m a little late on this but would i need a tune to install long tube headers on my v6 new edge? Since the O2 sensors will need to be relocated?

What intake manifold you have on the motor? Is it the Windstar that alot of folks are using or something aftermarket and by the way i love how it sounded before the longtube install. I want to sound jus like that lol!

Good job. If you break that yellow retaining clip good luck in finding a replacement. I like how you used those straps to drop the tank - I might try that next time instead of using a floor jack. If you do order a complete assembly with the housing, check that you can easily replace the fuel pump like this. Some aftermarket stuff isn't nearly as easy to replace a fuel pump as the OEM housing - reuse your OEM housing if you can. Be careful heating those hoses! (Don't use a heat gun) By the way, if your tank is full it'll be more difficult to drop that tank. Yes, I'm speaking from experience. I'm currently in the process of replacing my fuel pump but since I can't find a hose to replace the one I broke on my aftermarket housing I ordered a new pump with a supposedly OEM style housing (I can't find just the housing without a fuel pump) - that's why I say to be careful with buying aftermarket housings because it appears they usually don't want you to be able to replace the pump - they actually admit to that. Keep you OEM housing if you can! 2002 Mustang GT.

I have a 2003 and the axles were not pushing in far enough to remove the C-Clips. Turns out the wheel speed sensor wheel hits the wheel speed sensor. Remove the wheel speed sensor and you should be good. Thanks for the video.

3:73 Gears in 8.8" differential? Where did you get that kind of ring & pinion? I can't imagine how tiny the pinion is. Toothpick sized pinion? And your crawl rstio is way exceeding a jeep wrangler's. Wow!

I know this is an old vid, but was your car throwing any codes while this was going on? I’m getting p0008 and p0017, and I’m leaning toward a slipped reluctor wheel rather than timing chain issue, but this has me thinking. Were you going to do the chains and then discovered the collapsed tensioner? Thanks

Windtar intake has butterflies. Ford used a different intake on the Mustang for a reason. It uses a wide open intake. And don't upshift that high, upshift at 5,000rpm where the horsepower peak is and that'll bring the rpms down to below 4000rpm where the torque peak is and push the car slightly faster. You take the engine out of the powerband upshifting it that high.

This is jank as all hell. Not worth the time, effort, modification, relocation, and if u look the bottom intake ports on the lower manifold are tiny as balls, u can only get as much flow as they can handle and the engineers clearly put stock intake over ur windstar for many reasons. Thats why they have the degree. Somt redo the wheel
