  I think he was just being an asshole here, due to hard feelings at the time between him, and the studio. He never wanted to do a sequel, and felt they were pressuring him into making it.

  Every sequel sucks in my opinion, not really including Halloween 3 in this franchise. Did you like Halloween (2018)? That is the only sequel I liked in any way at all.

  Carpenter definitely had to have directed the last ten minutes of HALLOWEEN II. Everything becomes perfect when they make their way back to the hospital, and the editing for HALLOWEEN II is really good. The TV version is the abomination
