I'm just going to say a word about the brakes for others who might watch the video, since you already fixed your problem. If the brakes feel mushy, but after a few pumps they firm up, then there's a defect somewhere in the system. You said you bled the brakes and that would work for a few applications, so it can't be that. So, if it wasn't water in the brake fluid, then it has to be a bad seal. You replaced the master cylinder and the problem went away, which means that the master cylinder had a bad seal that was sucking in a tiny amount of air. I'll bet that if you had replaced that master cylinder with another stock master cylinder, you would have experienced the same improvement as you got with your aftermarket master cylinder. Anyway, I'm just saying that pumping brakes to get them to firm up is definitely a sign of some type of defect, and not how the brakes are intended to work from the manufacture..

I realize this video is 3 years old and that you may not actually own the bike now. But I felt the need to compliment you on this well done and honest review. You have also confirmed that I made good decisions about 1) correcting the front brake issue and 2) replacing the original spoke wheels with lightweight “alloy” units. I did not go the same route as you for either mod. I went with bypassing the ABS connection up front and swapped out the wheels with BST carbon-fiber wheels. 😎

Mate, you have not any air leak. With decat you run with poor fuel. That's why you have back fire when you release the throttle. You need an ecu remmap to have the right air/fuel ratio, so the bike will run properly and get the benefit of the decat pipe.

Looking at the new V2S, asked the dealer how much the 30000km maintenance was, and its around 1500$+tx here in Canada. Not to bad if you ride 10000km a year, but I can ride 30000km in a year sometimes and the maintenance cost is certainly something I'm considering. Also did you try an Africa Twin, my 2nd biggest concern is that the bike doesn't have the low end torque of the Africa. I like bikes to give me the power off the line, so that way I'm not tempted to go twice the speed limit all the time to enjoy it. Does it power wheelie in 1st and 2nd gear? Also, looks like Ducati is using Apple's business model, you can't repair it yourself and anything you want do to your device needs to go through Apple.
@gonzo2212 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the bike does power wheelie in first. In second you have to bounce it a little but it does lift. The torque on the bike is great, I can't see you ever feeling the bike is underpowered. As for the repair, the service light is non reset able. So if you do services yourself you have to go to dealer in order for them to reset the light. I have a good relationship with my dealer here so they don't charge me for the reset. But it does suck that more bike brands are doing this.
