Shame on your group for showing its ok to shoot a gun in and around a wild and scenic river. This practice just leads to shell and bullet pollution.

Looks like fun. I have a Colorado XT that I think would be fun to take down this river. I have done some class 2+ with it. I think the secret to running large rapids is staying straight. As soon as you get sideways, it's easy to get swamped and flip.

Has anyone considered going way left on whitehorse with a Colorado XT? I was told we could go left where it's much calmer but too shallow for drift boats? Thanks-

Are there any stores or places to get water in Clarno? My sister thinks she can go from service creek to Cottonwood park (147mi) with just a camebak and a Steri-Pen.. I dont think steri-pen's filter out chemicals, and theres a lot of farms in this area.. So are there any places to get fresh water between Service Creek and Cottonwood State park?

Roger Wilco No potable water at the Clarno put in. There’s a few springs and creeks from Clarno to Cottonwood but but you have to really pay attention to find them. The river is fast and brown right now

2:20 i swear you guys took the exact same line that I saw when you scouted it. Question: I have a canoe that I river-run with. Was thinking about a kayak but now I've seen these. They seem wayy more stable, especially for these class 3's(?). Maybe a lil more wet, but that's not always bad. Can carry more, but has a wider footprint. Dual oars are nice but very wide. You've probably been kayaking, so which do you prefer??

Here's my recipe for cooking carp: Take an appropriate sized cedar board, pound two rows of nails a little farther apart than the size of the fish, soak (submerge) the board in water for 24 hours, clean and scale the fish, lay the fish between the two rows of nails and wire it in with stainless steel wire, place the board on a grate over low coals or on a BBQ (nail side up) on low-medium (the heat will generate steam from the wet board) for about 30 minutes or until flaky when done, cut the wires and remove the fish, throw the fish away and eat the board.

Some of the boys were a little disrespectful with their callous handling of their honorable quarry after the fight. Treat them humanely by keeping them in the water; surely their future is hard enough without the photo antics.

  • @counterpoint6718

Sadly, despite all the fish you caught, all I can envision is your dragging of the fish across the gravel shore. Seems somewhat of a callous hand even for a fish soon to expire from natural causes. Show some respect.

Thanks for the video as I live in the Reno, NV. area and just found out there's bass around here. Before, I was driving 2 hours into Calif. Was looking at tube floats at first, but didn't care to get my ass wet and then it was inflatable boats, but wasn't too sure about their stability/durability. Then thought of inflatable pontoon boats. but wondered about stability in waves, not that they get high on the ponds/lakes I'm fishing, but still.... your video has put my mind at ease about this.
