Mine as well 722D. Thinking of doing that fused wire from alternator to battery.

I realize this is 11 years old. But if you’ve got a bowl with gas in it, get an old cooking pot, fill it with water and get it boiling. Take a pair of pliers hold the bowl in the boiling water such that the pressure will force the gas out. Then you can seal the crack in the bowl it plastic use two part epoxy, or solder it if it’s brass. Old trick from a old auto mechanic.

Since the fuse is heating and not blowing it sounds like you fuse holder at that fuse is not clinching onto the fuse prongs. The heat is from a voltage drop across that fuse and holder. Clean and bend the prongs together for the fuse holder. Also add a ground wire to regulator mounting bolts.

I just picked up a red 1995 Indy 440 for just 400$US. This one has like 1400 miles on it, and is in great condition. BUT it is currently a non-runner. Has decent fire, but refuses to start. New plugs and some love to the carbs and fuel system should have it up and running. Even if I have to put a couple hundred dollars into making it run again I won't feel bad about it, for the price I paid for the sled. Other than that, we are just waiting on some actual snow to ride on here in west Wisconsin.

*This is a great sawSnapper It's powerful,🌼 **allabout.wiki/Wolf** easy to use, and has a lot of great features that make it safer for a homeowner to use, such as the compression release, chain brake, and choke that sets the throttle to idle up when starting. The chain is easy to adjust. The engine has a lot of horsepower and torque for cutting big sections of wood quickly. You cannot bog this saw down unless it gets pinched. But that's true of nearly every saw.*
