The appreciation - of Colin Meads as a great and true Rugby man and epitomy of what the All Blacks stands for - in South Africa is deep and wide. As a young boy I saw him playing in the third test of 1970 against the Springboks in Port Elizabeth with his broken arm in a cask. The test is still regarded as one of the toughest ever. It was also the first time Brian Williams toured SA who are still regarded as one of the best wingers who visited these shores.
