WE ARE GRIMFROST

A culture that doesn't adapt, develop and find a contemporary footing is dead, or in a best case scenario just an echo from the past. Our heritage is very much alive to us - it's not something that just exists in the past, or that requires dressing up in traditional clothes for reenactment gatherings. Our aim has always been to build a bridge between now and then, and bring relevant parts of the culture into today's world. There is wisdom to be learned from, achievements to be inspired by and an entire cultural treasure to embrace. That is the way to become a modern Viking, a Viking at heart!

Our goal is met through a combination of scholarly knowledge and expert crafting skills being added to a deep lifelong interest in Viking culture. You can find information, inpsiration and unique Viking products with us - both historical and modern interpretations. Visit us at www.grimfrost.com!

Excellent interview! Apologies. 20:30 Are you talking about Hindarfjall? My Swedish is horrible (non-existent to put it better) The interview with archaeologist Charlotte Hedenstierna-Jonson made me subscribe to your channel, which I am exploring little by little. My kudos to you, sir! Greetings from Argentina.

Great presentation. I would argue there is a lot of evidence that the runes are indeed qualitatively rather than just quantitatively based and that direct connection to major and minor deities are inherent in the runes of the futhark (elder and younger) ... phonetics of sound (numerological siginifcance and relation to specific vibration/frequency) is also associated with them via Galdr. The alphabet was secondary to the qualitaive resononance of the runes. The skaldic poetry was carefully qualitatively constructed i.e. no arbitrary written structure at all on the contrary very much weighed up and crafted. The texts such as The Poetic Edda was very much qualitatively constructed. The runes also extended as the principle driven core martial arts, crafts, esoteric and exoteric studies. All the runes pertain to the Orlog as the 'holistic' underlying infinite governing 'web/matrix' from which the individuated runic qualities are derived. ... finally regards to the 'time' pt 1:11:32 ... the mention of remembering '27' generations back is an example of my previous pt i.e. numerological weighting '27' is a raised '9' vibration and so much of the Edda's verse is numerologically geared (and you only need to look back so far historically such as Testla's 'Vortex' math which relates to ancient numerological weighting such as Pythagoras etc and ineed the runic qualitative weighting). They had great command and cognizance of 'time' just different relative to modern day calendar preference and bias.

It appears the film called the Northman was deliberately made to cause hysteria through deciet or distortion of sacred ways as there was no mention of Thor the thunderer the bear the lord of the goats whose Northmen get their name from Thor's sacred realm known as the Northlands. In the Northman the leader Amlereth did identify as Bjorn Ulfr which means Bear wolf which some might say really should mean Thor Odinson because Thor is known as Bjorn the bear and Odin is associated with the name Ulfr which means wolf though i am unsure if any of this is true now because of several new contradictions made by what appears to be the sneaky racist enemy of the Moorish tribe of Belphegor and my own displaced Norse refugee families who like the Moorish are the victim of invasion that is wrongfully convicted of invading by what is said to be the one true god of the one dominant white race.

Hearing Einar talk about the challenges of traveling and touring is quite relatable, as I used to be a long haul truck driver spending upwards of four months away from home. The major difference is that it's all work, no time to rest, no time to go out and experience nature, sleeping in a cramped truck cabin. It is physically and spiritually damaging and exhausting.

Great to see Dr. Williams speak of Heavener Runestone again. SE corner of Colorado to Heavner Runestone is 675 mile minimum which is 1086Km just as Henrik said. West Coast Sweden at Goteburg to East Coast Stockholm, which I have personally driven Oktober 2023 and have met Dr. Williams in Uppsala, is 290miles / 675Km by comparison. Dr. Williams says the stone, as to why/who it was carved is, a "Total Mystery." An actual scholar who has been to and laid his hand on the Heavener Runestone; unlike a Canadian farse youtube poster. Martians = Aliens = Scandinavians 😎

As a Finn I can hear Peters Finnish Swedish in this and I think it is cool that Icelanders can follow the spelling. Both regions have kept some of the ancient way of pronounciation. Both in Swedish and I guess in Finnish too, since even though icelandic is not related per say it still sounds the same.

We really need more viking movies; especially ones with more accurate vikings. And while the vikings are very stereotypical, and not really the main focus, my favorite "viking" movie atm is the first How to Train your Dragon film.

Great podcast episode. I was glad to hear the 13th Warrior brought up and the story behind the wardrobe. I never knew that and always considered that movie as one of my favorites. If you want to see a horror/monster/viking movie, you should watch Head Hunter. For a low budget film, it hit above it's weight class.
