I remember playing Pleasure Island back in the 80s when I first got a NES as a kid and was able to rent the game from a video rental store, but I had long forgotten the name until I watched this video! I wasn't sure it was the same game either until I saw the character kick an egg and it clicked - I don't think I made it past the first stage of the first level iirc...

How about Life Force? It's a shoot-em-up in the vein of Silver Surfer. Extremely difficult, although not really amenable for speedrunning since almost the whole game is on a slow auto-scroll. It's hard even with the 30-life Konami code. I've never even attempted it on 3 lives.

When I was like ten, I think I made it to Shredder once and maybe I just died right away. I had a pretty hard time and wasn't confident I could get all the way again, and it felt like grinding an hour to die in a minute was a loop I wasn't going to get the better of. Somehow I don't remember the Technodrome being that hard either. Donatello just wrecks everything. Everyone else just protects his health bar, it's kinda of dumb. 😂 I also don't remember ever having trouble on the water level. Some people are just different and idk if I would still be the same now.

wtf adventure island is one of the hardest. my big brother beated that game without dying once when i was a kid , on the sega master system . i bought the console and the game again for hi m as a gift. he instantly played it again and did the no death run . my brother was a hidden speed runner this whole fucking time .

the lost levels was made for the pros alot of people couldnt pass the game because it was way hard to beat. I remember watching a video about this game. That is why they didnt made alot of copies of this game. Back then when I was a kid I beat the whole game in the sness.

MM 1 has very unforgiving controls that have been smoothed on 2. You're on an edge and then just suddenly in the pit, no recoverable arc. Also brutally high damage cost from low-level enemies.

Ngl, but i like Sunshine more... maybe cuz i'm more into (not too much) freedom in games, instead of how simple it is in SM64. Sunshine was more free, like jumping higher, using FLUDD in funny ways etc. It could've been better with more features and levels, though! Congrats, nice WR! Even though it's kinda late XD
