    the "bring your belly button to your spine" cue hasn't been used since the days of Jane Fonda. This is not an adequate representation of how our TVA works or contracts. And to think that people in the industry are still spouting this nonsense. Update your knowledge.

    Using your chin to maintain an axial load during rotation? I wouldn't advise that. Painful and strange for the patient. Unprofessional as well. A bit too close and personal. You can easily apply an axial load with your hands while guiding the patient into rotation.

    Dr. Gerling is my spine doctor. Did a discectomy from a car accident in 2021. Two years later, another car accident which required a fusion on another level. He did the TLIF fusion on my L4-L5 in late 2023. I went home a few hours after the surgery on the same day. I won't lie, it was very painful and difficult for the first week. Then it subsides and gets better each day. Huge difference. I feel much improved as opposed to before the surgery. I'm nearing 6 months post op. Very skilled surgeon and has excellent integrity. Very mindful to get you off addictive medications as soon as possible. One of the best in my opinion. And he has a brilliant team behind him. Now I have a chance to play ball with my son in the future. Very blessed. Thank you Dr. Gerling!

    Also, would this (except holding your pull while the patient bends knee back against your force) potentially allow a patient to bend their knee fully if they can't on their own due to extreme pain when trying if it were due to patella maltracking? Such as after muscle loss/imbalance after an injury? Would it do so because it forces a muscle activation that otherwise isn't working for the patient?

  • @Sis.Sweets
    @Sis.Sweets4 ай бұрын

    I would appreciate insight on this. I had a knee injury and when my physical therapist does this posterior to anterior technique while I am on my back, it is the only way I can bend my knee deeply without pain. The pain is so intense if I try to do it on my own that I can't. The MRI failed to show why (only showed unrelated pre-existing minor things that never limited or really affected me at all, was active and fully capable). I've become quite disabled after this injury and felt the injury when it occurred. Please, if someone can tell me, are there any other damages that this technique would 'bypass' or allow the deep bending of the knee other than meniscus tears? If the patella is maltracking due to a ligament tear or something, would this technique also work for that by supporting the knee or something?

    It's a possibility that you had subchondral bone damage and perhaps some degree of osteoarthritis. This can cause pain in flexion and terminal extension, especially in weight-bearing.

    this video provides incorrect info. that patient, according to his findings, is significantly retroverted....by 25 degrees or more...normal palpation of the GT in it most prominent position would be 10-15 degrees internal rotation....

    I like this test as it challenges my ability to string together more rests regarding leg length discrepancy, so that it may be difficult to understand this test at times, especially if the reverse posture happens when the patient stands up, the patient may have a longer right leg when lying in supine position, and may show and anteriorly rotated right innominate bone, but when standing the ileum is sloped down to the right indicating it is shorter, this gets into possible up slips and other interesting bio mechanical testing, so it's a nice one to do just for the sake of doing it to challenge the mind to really figure out what's going on. Thank you for the video very interesting

    About to have a 3rd repair on my supraspinatus full thickness tear and labrum tear. My left shoulder has been replaced 3 times and is now stainless steel. I don’t want to have another replacement on my right one but how many times to I try this repair? The other one got infected and was operated on 28 times and I got a blood problem and had a pic line in with daily meds for months. 🤦‍♂️ Then the rod part started trying to push out of my bone so they had to go in and replace it again with a longer shaft. I was averaging 1 surgery a month for 3 years and don’t wanna go through that again but maybe that was just a fluke but now my right one is seeming to go the same route. 🤦‍♂️🥴😞.
