  It hasn't really occured to me how weirdly lucky I've been in the past until you were talking about mirage island in this video. I used to replay the gen 3 games pretty often in the past and I remember catching pokerus and finding mirage island in those playthroughs but never realizing how rare those were until later.

  I saw the island two or 3 times as a kid and didn’t know how crazy unlikely it was until just a few years ago. Berries don’t (or at least didn’t) respawn. I still remember being annoyed that their was only Wynaut on it

  I just stumbled onto this whole rabbit hole of complicated mechanics and series of yours. And yes I've seen the more recent ones as well but watched them out of order. Wanted to compliment your work and effort. This is incredible and hard work. Especially since you have to be very careful and correct on the numbers. But mistakes can happen. Then again it doesn't take away the main point of being too complicated and the azure flute. Wonder if curry will come up at a point. Would be happy to see it. Have a good one!

  idk but random thought for amity square, that the friendship lvl has to reach a higher amount, lets say 200 or every 200 points total to have 1 point of reduction and if the friendship amount is maxed then it has a 1.5 point reduction that is floored? thats way you need 2 maxed friendship pokemon to gain a 1 point reduction to the smoothness? or it could be the inverse where out hypothetical 200friendship threshold would only give you .5 points as a full 255 would give to a total of 1.5 for that pkmn? and the trashy math sorta works out, like there are 6 pokemon that can count for a point with high enough friendship and then for each theres half a point for a maxed friendship so that 3 extra points so theres the 9 total??? idk at this point im spitballin but tbh if any of this was true it would throw a wrench in the vaporeon trails

  I actually think I did manage to get mirage island when I was younger, but I had no idea of the significance of it and was just lucky. I seem to recall being disappointed in it actually, I thought there would be more to it. Apparently maybe there was but I didn't have access to internet and honestly back then whatever information there was would have probably been beyond my grasp anyways.

  20:49 In my first save in pokemon Ruby when I was a kid, I accidentally found mirage island without knowing how rare it was (my zigzagoon with 4 hm moves was probably the reason I could see it lol)
