You chemically condensed polyethylene terephthalate (PET) to ethylene (flammable gas) and terephthalic acid (flammable liquid). The burning of these compounds are also highly toxic...

you are a hero! scale it up and make a lot of money. you can sell the oil. first use the oil to heat the stove. then if there is enough oil you can start to sell it. collect the plastic from the ocean. it is free. you also clean the ocean from plastic. 😀❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎Great!

I wonder if a wood gasafire could have a 4 inch pipe with a cap on the bottom mounted in the middle to put plastic in. Burn the wood and melt the plastic and get the gases from both the wood and plastic.

I like how you feed the "waste gas" back into the system to make it a little more efficient. Nature is is the pinnacle of efficiency and we with our many wastes will do well to follow suite and make use of our "waste". I feel like in the future a history book will read "In the modern era they had things called waste, with dumps and trucks to store and move it all over, they didn't know it could be use for..."

So now everybody know that all these new cars with plastic on their engines valve covers and intake manifolds that are plastic are slowly sweating gas inside the engine wearing down valves, camshafts, and bearings, and gaskets. Everything is rigged to fail and we pay the price.

I think the terrible burned plastic smell you mentioned has to do with the oxygen that is filling the system before you start the process, it is able to react with the heated plastic and cause some of the plastic to burn rather than pyrolyse. You could purge the air out of the system at the start with a welding tank of CO2 or nitrogen, introducing at one end and then holding a flame at the outlet till the purge gasses can put out a lighter flame at the outlet, or for cheaper/lower tech purging, maybe put a candle inside and let it burn till it goes out or something?

You didn't really "bust" anything. And most of thes are just proof of concept videos. The process is real, and it does what they claim. Did anyone say you could pour this sludge in a gasoline car? Or just diesel engines? Oil, plastic, fuel, solvents etc are all bad for the environment, we know that. Use it or don't.

Awesome vid. Especially the bit at the end where you reveal that both fuels would completely wreck an engine if you tried to run it on what you produced. That’s not a criticism though, as other vids I’ve seen that run approximately the same process don’t mention that. I also like the way you fed the waste gas back into the burner. I always thought that was was such a waste, burning that gas off on an oil rig. I’m looking for a way to recycle plastic in a way that would be useful, rather than just dumping it in the bin or “recycling” it and sending it off to a tropical island to meet our country’s bullshit recycling quota. I expect you’ve already thought of a way of improving the purification process, and I’m only whizzing through KZread here, but if you post another vid on how to purify, I’d love it. Well done. :)

I've watched some videos about melting the plastic down and forming it into bricks and boards, which could still be done with the leftover. It is impressive how much can be done with it.

you need to control the temperature if you want diesel. The waxy material is from your temp being too high. Lower temp will get rid of the clogging problem.

Funny how an average guy can turn plastic waste back into the fuel it came from, using only pickle jars and plastic tubing, but the geniuses in the corporate boardrooms and government offices can't. They can only bury plastic in the ground, or dump it at sea, then charge us $5/gal for gas, and tax us to clean up their mess. It says a lot about the people who run this world. Thank you for an inspiring video!
