Sure Hank isn't a traditional hero, but he is defiantly an anti-hero. I mean he's the closest thing to the hero in the show. Sure he has his flaws and shortcomings but in a show like Breaking Bad everything is not black and white. You spend a lot of the video talking about how Hank was so blinded to Walter being Heisenberg which I mean who can blame him everything that lead up to it was either so close to home for him or could only truly be understood after he actually put it together, and of course he'd be pissed I mean who wouldn't in his shoes, but I refuse to believe that its solely pride that makes him wish to take Walt down. I mean look at what happen to Merkert he was basically in the same situation as Hank. When he failed to listen to Hank about Gus being connected to the blue meth it cost him his career. Now with Hank seeing that firsthand and now being in the nearly the exact same position just now closer to home, not only could the same thing happen to Hank, but it most likely could have been even worse for him. He had no choice, he tried to do everything in his power for Skyler to retain her innocence that he could but she doubled down defending Walt making it his family and possibly life or Walt and Skyler's, and do you really think he'd be considered a bad man for arresting them both for their crimes and most likely getting custody of the children of course not walt is guilt obviously, and Skyler is guilty of aiding and abetting to his meth empire. He did everything he could have done it was just too late thanks to his blindness. Not all heroes are perfect, but Hank is without a doubt in my eyes the closest thing to a hero in this story. He even goes through the Heros Journey narrative. His "Call to Adventure" him investigating the blue meth, his "Threshold" killing Tuco, then even more "Challenges" him struggling with PTSD the whole El Paso incident followed with even more PTSD, his "Abyss/Death/Rebirth" nearly being killed by the cartel and recovering, "Transformation" discovering Walt is Heisenberg, "Atonement" doing everything in his power to catch walt and redeem is career while trying to do the moral thing in the situation, and finally his "Return" being killed while still sticking to his beliefs and values even at the end of it all. Just because he didn't succeed at catching Walt or didn't do everything perfectly and morally do not discredit him for being a hero. It just makes him human and not some fairytale character.

Hank is the whole reason Walter became a criminal. "Say the word, Walt." I'll set up a ride along during a drug raid... "Look at all that money we seized on TV. ".. "Get some excitement in your life, and here hold my gun, it ain't gonna bite ya."

I initially disliked Hank because of how unprofessional and foolish he was in the first part of the series. However, I believe that he improved over the series and I started to like him. He is definitely not a hero - in fact, I'd say he's more of a villain than an anti-hero. Nevertheless, he is probably the least villainous main character in the series.

While it may be underrated in the mainstream, every marine I know for the most part loves this show and can quote it like the Bible. It’s the best depiction of marines and the culture in the marine corps out there.

I always felt like Hank had a "gut feeling" that Walter was involved in everything but decided to dismiss it due to them being family which is why he occasionally hints/jokes about Walter's involvement but never makes a serious accusation. When all the evidence finally slapped him in the face he just could not unsee it. He could not cope with being played like a fool by his own brother in law and made it a personal vendetta to bring him down

Sopranos & Dexter both have such shitty endings, but I've noticed that a lot of REALLY interesting shows will have absolute shit endings. Like these talented writers just don't know how to end anything & just throw their hands in the air in desperation & just say, "OK, we'll just do this & call it good enough!" 🙄

The point of the Furio scene with Columbus was to showcase how shallow the Crews Italian pride is in contrast to the native Americans who are treated like scum for not wanting to have a statue of worship for the man who 1. Committed horrible crimes against many native people ans 2. Didn't even do what he was famous for. Also the point of the casino owner is not to be funny its to show how the most common point of contention white people have with native americans is how alot of them "get rich" with casinos on their land.
