I'm so glad I stumbled on your video. I board this ship on Italy for 10-nights next week and the buffet looks totally unappealing and very nosisy. OMG... everything looks burnt. The Manhattan is great on other NCL ships. My package inclues 6 Specialty restaurnats -- I will purchase at least 2 immediately. It is unfortunate you did not enjoy your dining experiences onboard or off the ship.. All of the local food appreared generic... How did you find the local restaurants? In the end it looked like great bonding time with the family.

I think some carnival cruise's have classes on how to make the towel animals, last time I went, I was told we could learn how to do it, but I didn't go, maybe my upcoming one I'll see about it.

Thanks for sharing!! I love the way you go around all the food at the buffet! Can't believe they have the smoking area beside the kids are too. I will have a 7 yrs old with me . Might have to avoid that area. What do you mean by the North Star not working? I will be in the boat in sep, will it be working then?

The North Star was not operational on our cruise (neither was the robot bar). It was to be fixed when Quantum entered dry dock. Not sure if that happened yet. Our cruise was last August so it has probably been fixed since then, at least I would hope so!

North Star has been out of action since June/July last year and won't be fixed until dry dock in October/November this year so it won't be fixed in September. I know this because we did the transpacific from Australia in April and that is what we were told. It will be going to Singapore after the Alaska season for dry dock and then returning to Brisbane later in the year than normal, think it gets here in early December. As for the smoking area it isn't next to the kids pool area, it is further up near the doors into the indoor pool

Online before the cruise. I believe it was at checkin, they force you to watch the video before you can finish checking in so they know you have watched it.

How many minutes from the ship to walk to the straw market? Thank you for the video. Just retired and planning to go on our first cruise. My knees give me alot of problems, so don't want to get to far from the ship.

It was an easy walk, primarily flat ground, maybe 10 mins or less from the cruise port. Enjoy!

It was a very long flight, well 2 flights for me but wasn’t that bad really since they feed you and give you as many beverages (including alcohol) as you’d like on long international flights! We had a lot of fun exploring Rome on our own and then doing the excursions in the various ports and of course the ship itself is always a good time with all of the entertainment and activities onboard! I think I enjoyed the Pisa excursion the most though.

We used E&J Taxi Tours Puerto Plata. Search them up on Facebook. Great little family business. Elian was a wonderful guide. He met us at the port (just outside the gates) and then took us wherever we wanted to go and we were back in plenty of time to not worry about missing the ship. Don’t be a pier runner!! 😂 Have fun!

This trip was actually last year. I have so many trips that I am now editing videos of so currently on the Epic ones then have the Royal Quantum of the Seas to edit and upload after this series. But we had a great time in Europe and on the ship!

Right?? I grabbed one for hubby and the kid (worked well since she had a school trip to Barcelona a short while after I got back so I bought her a Barcelona one for $5!). We had a great time but the cabins on the Epic were the strangest configuration of any NCL ship or any other line I’ve ever sailed on. Got used to it though (the whole bathroom and sink situation) and didn’t bother us after a day or two. Was just the initial shock of it! 😂

We only ate here for dinner. I don’t think we even reserved it, just showed up and were seated. We did this a few times but at odd hours so you may want to book a reservation if you want to eat at a busier traditional dinner time. At lunch they have a quick serve option outdoors that you can try too!

There are so many mixed reviews concerning Pig & Anchor. My husband and I will be on the Mardi Gras 12/23, after viewing your tray we will definitely try the salmon.

The salmon was delicious! They also do a quick serve style at lunch time outdoors I believe but we only ate there for dinner. Definitely give it a try especially since there is no additional charge for the dine in option on Mardi Gras.

😂 I guess that’s a fair assessment! I don’t have a big appetite anymore so I tend to stick to things I know I do like so I can enjoy what I do eat and not waste a lot of food. I do try to taste a few new things every trip but always gravitate to the tried and true ones after being on so many cruises and having a pretty good idea of what they do well that I like. I really ebjoyed your food review. I would like to know if you are allowed to take extra foid back to your cabin? I will be taking my first cruise. I am disabled and wouldn't be able to always leave the cabin so it would be a blessing if food was allowed to be taken out.

You can take as much food as you’d like! 😂 The only place you may not be able to is at the specialty restaurants (paid). There are small refrigerated coolers in each stateroom but keep in mind they are designed for beverages so storing any perishable food in there for more than a few hours wouldn’t be recommended. Easy to grab shelf stable items that are great are: cereal boxes at breakfast, cookies or dessert, breads, muffins, whole fruit like bananas or apples. Room service is also available 24/7 but there is a fee ($8 last I saw but it may have increased by now) so if you do use it, order as much as you want at once so you only need to pay the room service delivery one time. Breakfast can also be ordered to your stateroom by placing a door hanger outside with your order filled out on it. There is a complimentary list of offerings, think continental like pastries, cereal, coffee, etc. that do not have a service fee but you should still tip the delivery person of course. I always pack a stack of zipper food bags when I travel. They come in handy when you have leftover food or want to grab a snack for later so I highly recommend giving that a try. Enjoy your first cruise! I warn you though, it is highly addictive once you get that cruising bug!

Bro.. hat off at all tables except outdoors at a picnic or patio table or sitting on a towel on the beach. ha ha ha. You did not have the cap on some occasions. makes you even more handsome without it too..TY. it was extremely LOUD. Could you do talkovers when in loud or windy places? I really like you guys and am very happy to subscribe. Blesses to you all. I do hope you guys don't get upset with suggestions or a little critiquing. Just trying to be helpful is all.
