Ok wonderful sink and counter top but why not put sink at the other end of the deck? Oh yes I forgot the well pump is situated where you put it. Well now you have to build stairs to enter the deck.

Lovely video, quite fascinating to watch. I'd do metal sheeting on the inside as well, I'd just paint all inside wood white for harmonization of using different materials.

Nice solid framing and it looks well built. I do have a questions though, why did you not put your ceiling joist on top of the wall plate?

Only thing I would have done different to your cabin is a tiny wood burning stove. But otherwise I just love it.

you should dig a small hole put chunky gravel in it so the water can filter through it

I always use skin so soft. Those black flies stay away from me. Looking good. But I would have put the kitchen on the opposite side. Great repurpose for the slate.

The new counter came out great! And I agree swinging 90 degrees was a good idea. Just a thought about the drain…What about slipping a section of brown flexible guttering over end coming out from from under the deck. Would help to camouflage it from the lake. Whole place is really taking shape!

My husband made a bench railing for a friend’s deck. He made it chair height, then used a 2” x 10” (or 12”) board on top of the railing. This height did not block the lake view & also could be used to sit on. Worked very well. Just an idea that worked for us.
