Creative Paula

Let’s create together!! I post videos every Friday...

Welcome to my KZread channel! Im so happy you are here! I hope what I share here will inspire you to make what makes YOU happy, have fun and spread joy!

I first got the idea of having a channel back in 2018 from my kids! We had just started to watch Moriah Elizabeth and we were hooked! So my kids suggested I start my own channel 🥰 I did not start a channel back then because I had tons of limiting beliefs, like my age, my accent; and even thinking I didn’t have any creative ideas to do it!

After a divorce -immediately followed by a pandemic- I started to see things differently ✨ I worked on myself a lot; saw life from a different perspective and ultimately decided I have lot to share and that I’m valuable no matter what! So I started my channel on January 2923, and here I am!

I hope you like my content, that we get to connect and mostly that I can inspire you to do whatever makes you happy! ❤️

Oooh, these watercolors look perfect to draw moons, especially with the first technique you did. They would fit the circle theme and it would look so good. Super nice art and vid!

As Van Goh said, ‘Just dash something down if you see a blank canvas staring at you with a certain imbecility. You do not know how paralyzing it is, that staring of a blank canvas which says to the painter: you don’t know anything.’ Your lines are so nice. I gotta try this!

New subscriber here- watched two videos and I am hooked. Thanks for your inspiration. I always throw work away or put it away in frustration. It's good to see what happens when you push past that feeling and keep going. I'd love to see some tutorials on making larger scale abstract wall art. Can you even get watercolour paper that large? Or is it better to work on something smaller and then make prints in larger form?

Hi!!! You’ll love making them! I did not seal this one (to either to put in a book- maybe I should have😅) but I usually seal everything with spray varnish; is the easiest for me to use and I like the finish of the one I have

My problem is that I don't want to create something that isnt "worth" something...meaning I feel compelled to draw or create something with a purpose and not just for pure enjoyment of the process 😢

  • @bycreativepaula

Oh wow Laura; that’s been my thing since I was maybe 14…. I’ve done a lot of self work and I think somewhere in my childhood I got the idea that the trinkets or crafts I made were not valuable if I couldn’t use them for something or sell them… it’s so weird I know that memory is buried somewhere, where an adult gave me that impression with something they said…. Anyhow I spent so many years trapped in that thought; and for that reason I did not fight for studying art in college and afterwards I pursued art only as a fine artist and only because I sold my work; I needed that validation. After some years of painting and selling my work and finally becoming a full time artist the stress of creating being a job got to me; and I needed a creative outlet… so I went back to “playing” ; long story short now I’m here boring you with my story… It may help if you give it a purpose: 1. You can start with neurographical so then the purpose is to de-stress… 2. You can use your creations for something; you can make cards and tags by cutting them. You could also leave free art for people to take home with them… there’s a lot of stuff you can make with painted paper! Let me know if any of those ideas help; and if you want more… I’ve been there, and it can be hard to shake. So first find a “purpose” and in that path you might find the real purpose (and your right) to just have fun 😊
