The straw tree looks really good, it got some enchantment vibe to it. This is what amazes me most with artists (i am not a creative person myself), the ability to look at some random shape and to see what it can be (and, ofcousre, to actually make it happen 😅)

You’re welcome, your vids are fun to watch 😊 Your hinge technique I may try using in my book. I’ve had ideas to have some rotating pieces & I could only think of using brads (I had to look up name of the supply; little brass dots with metal pieces that lay flat) but your paper hinges would probably work better (the brads I feel could make the book too thick and bumpy). Also the tree you created for the straw painting reminds me of Dr Seuss, so whimsical😊

Your videos are very comforting to me, its nice that you give yourself a space to have fun with art. I'm working in create this book 2 right now after finally finishing the first book and its been a lot of fun! I also love how you make so many of your pages interactive, it inspires me to find a way to do that in my book as well!

@@bycreativepaula admittedly in the first book the last several prompts I did were low effort and rushed, I had done all of the prompts that inspired me first so near the end all I had left were prompts i didn't find as inspiring. I learned my lesson from that and im doing the second book in order!

I know this video is a little older so maybe you have have a solution already, but I find clear gesso great when you want to use markers or paint straight in the book, as it will stop the bleed through. You can still use pencils over the top. I haven't yet tried alcohol markers though, and I don't think they would work.

You can still do the prompts on any other paper… at this point I do everything outside the book and just glue it in… ❤️ I hope you can have fun with whatever supplies you have! If you need ideas let me know what you have and we can create something! Even with the most basic things, I promise 😊
