Your boy Jake here, glad to see you are back brother! I did a series on my channel a few months ago about false teachers and bad theology and Bethel church/Bill Johnson was part of that series. It is essential that teachers in the body of Christ start calling out theology that is not in the Bible! If you ever wanna chat about this stuff, you have my number. Titus 1:9 rebuke those who contradict sound doctrine!

Something that happened while you were away... Idk if you are familiar with the song "Never Lost" by Rita Springer? I was scheduled to play that song for the worship team. I absolutely could not bring myself to play it. I asked if they could change it to something else, I was taken off the schedule until I could resolve my issues. I thought that meant we would talk over my issues I had with the song's chorus and maybe come to an understanding of why they shouldn't play that song, but what they meant was I need to get over my issues I had with the song and submit to and trust the decisions put forward by the worship leadership. The conversations that followed led me to conclude, much to my surprise, that the worship leaders believed much of the authoritative power in our words that song talks about (I thought maybe they had a different way of interpreting those lyrics they somehow justified as a Gospel presentation). Eventually, I sought to speak to the elders on the matter. I reached out to Daniel Chapman and my buddy's worship leader at his church, creating a case to show how I was not the only one who had issues with the song (among other sings they started introducing that had similar lyrics, which was another part of my concern). My concerns were dismissed as being overly critical and unloving. I have since been attending my buddy's church from time to time, along with another good church a little closer to home. I was surprised to find two in my area. But before all this happened, I signed up to be in Daniel C's video testimony project. Should be coming out some time later this year.

I have had the Holy Spirit lead me to (some of the same) same perspectives as what is being presented at Bethel, completely independently and not attached to any church teaching either. However I am loving the discussion here because the Holy Spirit is showing me where we may end up in error, in making our wants a priority over Gods will or by trying to force something rather than waiting patiently in worship and with a quiet heart of submission. Like Jesus, we must constantly be looking to the father and be willing to lay down our expectations and will to his. I appreciate these guys perspectives.

Happy to see you back up and ready to address the issues troubling the Christian church via charismaticism. I would love to cont8nue this conversation and possible be a guest since being rescued out of charismatic deception 2 years ago. My husband and I had been involved for 12 years as leaders but gratefully came to our senses and have been walking in repentance and healing. It's definitely a journey and quite a work of grace!

Hey heard you make mention of Kim Walker Smith in one of your videos. We were attending a great Bible teaching church locally but noticed Kim is scheduled to perform there soon. Given her close ties to Bethel (Bill Johnson specifically) should I be concerned? Totally understand that people can mature in their theology over time. Thank God for that. Just listened to some of her old claims to have been in Heaven and communicated directly with God the Father and Jesus. She also claims she tried to take her life as a teenager and that encounter supposedly altered her life going forward. That is until she needed another PERSONAL encounter and revelation years later. When should we surrender to the word of God and stop fixating on our obsession with being affirmed with direct encounters?
yea i worked with kim during Jesus Culture Consumed. Idk where her theology is these days but I doubt it has changed much?
