It's very interesting that most of these window channel felt replacement vids for GM trucks do it without removing the glass. It actually looks easier with the window out. But I understand that removing the glass seems scary. Break the glass and you're in a heap of hurt.

I applied "boost plus" to many cars during this era (I'm 59). Did or does anyone make a "chip" for the 700-turbo cars? That was usually the best option as the *performance chips increased fueling to a higher boost level,* beyond what factory chips were programmed for. I realize though, that many or most performance chips for cars this old may no longer be available.

If you shortened the strap by running it around something under the truck and connecting both ends to the pickup you may not of had to hand winch it.

You can try eBay. I got a pair of used ones for my 93 pretty cheap. You can also try LMC truck for new ones. Just remember to match your color closely. Good luck!

Where can I get the metal channel brackets that you said not to damage? Mine was damaged during the disassembly. The channels are pretty easy to find, but I can’t find the metal brackets.
