  • @davesbackyardchickensandou3905
    @davesbackyardchickensandou390514 күн бұрын

    It keeps you from dragging the machine around to drain it. Andmit seems to work really well. And when I emptymthe jug I just empty on my outside potted plants

  • @samsno3667
    @samsno36677 күн бұрын

    "not good" ... still have to monitor the jug; better to let the portable a/c alert you with 8 beeps to empty... better way is to use a sump pump to suck it out the same window which means you will have to drill a hole into the panel that's provided.

  • @jmorv8866
    @jmorv88662 күн бұрын

    @@samsno3667 I use the jug, BUT I recently found that in high humidity, that jug fills up faster than expected so I had to place a plastic pan beneath it to catch any possible overflow. IMO, the jug is still a great solution because wheeling and lifting this hefty machine to the bathroom to drain the tanks would get old really fast.

    @@jmorv8866 I've been testing the 6000 btu model and in my area right now there wasn't much water condensation after one day. But did notice the fact that when I unplug the rubber stop, you get water coming out onto the floor before you can put and align the hose. It will get old soon as you so state. I swapped out the 6000 btu for the 8000 btu because it wasn't cooling enough nor fast enough for the small space I have in the "sun room". The room really gets hot if I lift the shades up... so they've been down. Even at 8000 btu ... it's "okay", may have to go even bigger. I love the wifi app and that I will require as my house is rented to seasonal vacationers so that I can monitor the heat in that particular room. My nephew says there are "portables" that has the condensation pump and/or evaporating features so I am looking into that also. The 8000 btu cost me about $400 and the 6000 btu cost me $320... not much difference but certainly will probably go up to a higher btu version as I have time to "turn it in".

    For some reason, the big hose when I put it outside the air conditioner, ignores it and the back absorbs the air and pushes it out just asking how did you just make it so that it just separates the hot and cold air?

  • @davesbackyardchickensandou3905
    @davesbackyardchickensandou390520 күн бұрын

    I'm not sure what you're asking. I put on the two pieces that came with it on the ends of the Exhaust Tubing. One end hooks to the back of the air conditioner where the hot air comes out. The other you put in the window so the hot air is pushed outside. It has to exhaust outside the house or apartment. And the cold air comes out the top of the machine.

    @@Sir_hufflepuff I just set mine up this evening; big hose is the exhaust that hooks up from the back and goes out the window which is hot air. The cold air comes out from the top of the portable a/c unit. You set which functionality by selecting the "mode" button and or using the app on your phone. Mine is working BUT I needed to clarify about the drain hose for the water which you need to empty out ever so often. More importantly, the unit will throw out a P1 code which tells you to empty the a/c. Until you empty the a/c of the water and then the P1 code will disappear, then the a/c will cool again... repeat if you have to...
