Palestine politics and International relations starts to become once more vital for The Middle--East , as in the past 6000 years of empire's diplomacy for a strategic passage between empires as Assyrian , Egyptian , Selucids , Persian , Greeks and Romans , to Egypt , then Ottomans , British etc.... Palestine became strategically more important being close to Suez Canal and an important High Way should be built between Gaza and Egypt joining The BRICS , This importance for development of the M.E. is crucial and vital , USA---UK empires tried to keep The M E poor , in order to get Max of OIl and Gaz for The West ; today the M.E. people cannot be fooled any longer and should be taking the toad to developing rapidly ! ! Most people in M.E. uphold and support and appreciate the struggle of Palestinians , as most youth in the world !

The concept of angels being behind the mechanisms of the body is so interesting! This is probably the reason why ruqyah works so well (especially for those who are firm in their iman and don’t scoff at such things), and explains the reason why the Quran is a cure.

Sir, if your position is to reject the use of astronomical calculations, then please reject them completely. It's hypocritical (and supposedly in violation of prophetic guidance according to your logic) to continue to rely on the scientific method to determine whether an unscientific moon sighting testimony is "scientifically possible." That's because science is rendered irrelevant when the whole scientific method is being discarded in favor of unscientific visual sighting (with the use of emotionally charged justifications for that method). Objective astronomical calculations are the superior method and should be embraced wholeheartedly because that's the way of the future and we should stop using the obsolete subjective stone age method of visual moon sighting by random individuals in the name of simplicity and prophetic guidance. That's because this unscientific method of visual moon sighting by random individuals is the one thing that has rendered the Hijri calendar too impractical to be able to replace the Gregorian solar calendar as the calendar for official use in any sphere outside determining Ramadans, Hajjs and Eids.

Does Zeytuna have recorded lectures of Dr Cleary that you can share? I found few on KZread with Sheikh Hamza after Sheikh Hamza mentioned the Zen Koans reference in a talk with Dr Jordan peterson, which lead me to search about Dr Cleary. Anyway, those lectures/ talks he gave are just great.. just wonderful insights and deep unprejudice thinking (mashaallah) I really hope you can share on this channel if have any.

I came across a translation of this book in my native language (Malayalam). Since I have no seerah books, I am of the intention to buy this book. Please reply. Thank you for your time.

At around 11:00 when you discuss pre-requisites. Absolutely agree. I spent a long time figuring out how to understand the Qur'an, the English translations are archaic and regular terms like 'worship' aren't defined. It's sad there's this massive gap and what felt like no guidance to bridging it.

We buried him last week, but he lifts us still. Brought to tears this morning re-listening to this interview I was honored to record with Imam Abu Qadir the Trustworthy 12 years ago before he passed. In it he gives a brief summary of his transformative life-story as well as some deep and timeless sage advice worth hearing by anyone who’s not just trying to be a decent human being -but an excellent one. Watching this today made me reflect that even though he had just finished teaching a class to college students, this interview was recorded outside in the street, and how fitting this was because he was a man who was present and impactful in both the classroom, and in the streets. The Prophet Muhammad, upon him be God’s blessings and peace, taught that one of the things that benefits a person after their death is beneficial knowledge that they conveyed. One of the beneficial things I learned and will always remember from Iman Abu Qadir was his saying during a sermon in San Francisco that, “Islam isn’t a costume, it’s a way of life”. I pray that his good actions and good words continue to be a source of life for generations to come and a source of light in his grave.

We live in a time which our Leadership will abandon us if we don't jump in the fire... And the followers of Leaders want the Rights of Leadership-if even just by mere association, but none of the inherint Responsibility. All that said, what The Professor says here (about The Prophet Muhammad abstaining from stealth, etc), I feel/think is critically vital to Islams Historical narrative; there are those who say: "...he was a 'warlord.'" Yet, there is very little evidence that he Truly demonstrated the attributes of such a distasteful title. Lack of stealth assassination(s) & refraining from establishing alliances with the Persians (to take on Rome), are 2 fine examples. My take away: The Prophet Muhammad reserved his Wisdom not for worldly "games." Rather, he saw the Whole Divine Play. Amazing. God is Absolutely The Greatest, Absolutely Most Wise. (Thank you for posting this)

This is in response to a couple of questioners and it may be too long to put in a reply: I seek refuge with Allah from the evil insinuations of The Rejected, Accursed Shaitan. With the assistance of Allah’s name The Merciful Benefactor, the Merciful Redeemer; As-Salaam-u laka (The Peace from the Source of The Peace that passes understanding be on you; used by Allah to Gideon in Arabic Bible Judges 6:23). Allah Prescribes These for Adam’s Best Holistic Health P.1 Allah tells us that He is our healer. And after that it is up to our trust in our faith in His Word that will allow Him to take us to the things He wants us to see, think about, say, and do including following His guidance in the سُنَنَ Sunana aka Sunnah (culturally moral) ways of prior righteous people. Only His Word is The Truth, and it is to be followed no matter its source. An-Nisaa’, 4:26 . Sahih International: Allah wants to make clear to you [the lawful from the unlawful] and guide you to the [good] practices of those before you and to accept your repentance. And Allah is Knowing and Wise. Pickthall: Allah would explain to you and guide you by the examples of those who were before you, and would turn to you in mercy. Allah is Knower, Wise. Yusuf Ali: Allah doth wish to make clear to you and to show you the ordinances of those before you; and (He doth wish to) turn to you (In Mercy): And Allah is All-knowing, All-wise. Shakir: Allah desires to explain to you, and to guide you into the ways of those before you, and to turn to you (mercifully), and Allah is Knowing, Wise. Muhammad Sarwar: God wants to guide you, explain to you the customs of those who lived before you, and grant you forgiveness. He is All-knowing and All-wise. Mohsin Khan: Allah wishes to make clear (what is lawful and what is unlawful) to you, and to show you the ways of those before you, and accept your repentance, and Allah is All¬Knower, All¬Wise. Arberry: God desires to make clear to you, and to guide you in the institutions of those before you, and to turn towards you; God is All-knowing, All-wise; Ahmad Zaki Hammad: “God desires to clarify for you His commandments, and ‘to’ guide you to the ‘godly’ ways of those before you, and to grant you repentance. For God is all-knowing, all-wise.” The Gracious Quran, A Modern-Phrased Interpretation In English, p.82 Muhammad Asad: “God wants to make [all this] clear unto you, and to guide you onto the [righteous] ways of life of those who preceded you,35 and to turn unto you in His mercy: for God is all-knowing, wise.” The Message of The Qur’an, pp. 107/108 35) “35 An allusion to the genuine religious teachings of the past, which aimed at bringing about a harmony between man’s physical nature and the demands of his spirit - a harmony which is destroyed whenever asceticism is postulated as the only possible alternative to licentiousness (see also surah 2, note 118). This allusion arises from the discussion of sexual morality in the preceding passages devoted to marital relations.” The Message of The Qur’an, p. 108 Excerpted Suurah Al-Baqarah, 2:143/note 118) “(143) And thus have We willed you to be a community of the middle way,118 so that (with your lives) you might bear witness to the truth before all mankind, and that the Apostle might bear witness to it before you. Muhammad Asad, The Message of The Qur’an, p. 30 118 Lit., ‘middlemost community’ - i.e., a community that keeps an equitable balance between extremes and is realistic in its appreciation of man’s nature and possibilities, rejecting both licentiousness and exaggerated asceticism. In tune with its oft-repeated call to moderation in every aspect of life, the Qur’an exhorts the believers not to place too great an emphasis on the physical and material aspects of their lives, but postulates, at the same time, that man’s urges and desires relating to this “life of the flesh” are God-willed and, therefore, legitimate. On further analysis, the expression ‘a community of the middle way’ might be said to summarize, as it were, the Islamic attitude towards the problem of man’s existence as such: a denial of the view that there is an inherent conflict between the spirit and the flesh, and a bold affirmation of the natural, God-willed unity in this twofold aspect of human life. This balanced attitude, peculiar to Islam, flows directly from the concept of God’s oneness and, hence, of the unity of purpose underlying all His creation: and thus, the mention of the ‘community of the middle way’ at this place is a fitting introduction to the theme of the Ka’bah, a symbol of God’s oneness.” Ibid I encourage you to research in the name of your LORD Who created and teaches us what we do not know Chapter aka Suurah Al-An'aaam, 6:68-[87-90]-94 to see and understand how Allah teaches us to be one in the faith family of Abram aka Abraham aka Ibraahiim aka Ibraaheem aka Ibrahim. And to do likewise with Chapters Al-Anbiyaa', 21-[92-94]-97; and Chapter Al-Mu'minuun, 23:23-[52-54]-62; and Chapter Aaaal-e-'Imraan, 3:110-115. Note that the verses within [ ]s are the text and the rest are their contexts. May Allah bless us to realize in our lifetimes what He says about the faith family of Abram aka Abraham aka Ibrahim in Chapter Al-Hajj, 22:78 "And strive hard in God's cause with all the striving that is due to Him: it is He who has elected you [to carry His message], and has laid no hardship on you in [anything that pertains to] religion,92 [and made you follow] the creed of your forefather Abraham,93 It is He who has named you - in bygone times as well as in this [divine writ] - 'those who have surrendered themselves to God'.94 so that the Apostle might bear witness to the truth before you, and that you might bear witness to it before all mankind." Thus, be constant in prayer, and render the purifying dues, and hold fast unto God. He is you Lord Supreme: and how excellent is this Lord Supreme, and how excellent this Giver of Succour!" Muhammad Asad, The Message of The Qur'an, pp. 517/518 "92 The absence of any 'hardship' in the religion of Islam is due to several factors: (1) it is free of any dogma or mystical proposition which might make the Qur'anic doctrine difficult to understand or might even conflict with man's innate reason; (2) it avoids all complicated ritual or system or taboos which would impose undue restrictions on man's everyday life; (3) it rejects all self-mortification and exaggerated asceticism, which must unavoidably conflict with man's true, nature (cf. in this connection note 118 on the first sentence of 2:143); and (4) it takes fully into account the fact that 'man has been created weak' (4:28)." Muhammad Asad, The Message of The Qur'an, p. 518 "93 Abraham is designated here as 'your forefather' not only because he was, in fact, an ancestor of the Prophet Muhammad - to whose followers this passage is addressed - but also because he is the prototype (and thus, the spiritual 'forefather') of all who consciously 'surrender themselves to God' (see next note)." Ibid "94 The term muslim signifies 'one who surrenders himself to God'; correspondingly, islam denotes 'self-surrender to God'. Both these terms are applied in the Qur'an to all who believe in the One God and affirm this belief by an unequivocal acceptance of His revealed messages. Since the Qur'an represents the final and most universal of these divine revelations, the believers are called upon, in the sequence, to follow the guidance of its Apostle and thus to become an example for all mankind (cf. 2:143 and the corresponding note 119)." Ibid 2:143's note 119) "I.e., that your way of life be an example to all mankind, just as the Apostle is an example to you'." His translated and interpreted clause of ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ The Muslims in Chapter 22:78 is "those who have surrendered themselves to God'". We believe that the Prophet Muhammad was the long-awaited for prophet of Deuteronomy 18 for which John the Baptist said that he was not "that prophet" and he is the one who was known as a truthful person until he started telling the people about Allah's revelations to him, fulfilling Jesus' semantics concerning him in John 16; and Jesus clarifies in John 17 that - this is life eternal, some say everlasting, that they know You the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent, and he lets us know that we can be one with the Father just as he is in that chapter. Jesus is known as the Word of G-d taking on flesh; the Word of G-d in the flesh; G-d's Word; etc.; and the Prophet Muhammad is known as The Qur'aan walking. Semantically the same is being said about both men, with the Prophet Muhammad showing us that Jesus' prayer to Allah in John 17 is a realizable reality. One must have faith in The LORD of Creation, and trust in it so that one is motivated to live the type of life He prescribes for us so that we become His Khalifah (Inheriter, Successor, Agent, etc.) representing Him in and to His Creation as He desires us to be. Oh Allah, LORD of Creation, please help the faith family of Abram aka Abraham aka Ibrahim to see You as You desire us to see You, help us to remove the blinders, etc. that are keeping us from seeing and understanding Your Word as defined in Your Creation and Revelations to us, and help motivate us to respond to Your call as You desire us to so do, and we beg of You to be blessed by You with all that is best for us now and later? Amen.

I would like a reading list (in the order to read) for a muslimah. For example, start with The Sealed Nectar, etc, and then what, Purification of the Heart.. etc etc. I would be grateful if Hamza Yusuf or someone of knowledge would give me the top 10 or 20 etc reading lists about Islam/self-development/non-fiction (with maybe some classics). I see on Hamza Yusufs Website he recommended Sense and Sensibility and a couple of Dostoevsky's books..

The tradition of Talab al-Ilm in Muslim history has always stressed the primacy of reading a book under the tutelage of a teacher / scholar as compared to the student who gets his knowledge directly from books without a mentor / teacher. ONLY after gathering enough knowledge from Mujaalasat al Ulamaa does reading becomes fruitful and positive. This is because Islamic tradition stresses the importance of reliability and authenticity and piety in the sacred act of transmitting religious knowledge, hence the high level of preservation of texts and knowledge in the Islamic tradition, with the QURAN being the gold standard of all time and all books.
