    These systems are compulsory in my country, Im surprised USA its not. They do all this work and the neighbours drain is just running to the ground. Maybe they should had spoke to the neighbour about connecting his spouting to the system for everyones home. Great work though. I have a identical system and glad to say my pipes are facing to the exit point.

  • @StormWaterDrainageSolutions

    Corrugated pipe fails from poor quality materials being used and installer error. There is nothing wrong with corrugated pipe. I used to be on the fence about it as well until I learned what I stated above. The problem is the cheap pipe at the big box stores have really given it a bad name unfortunately.

  • @StormWaterDrainageSolutions
    @StormWaterDrainageSolutions7 күн бұрын

    Concrete storm drains typically don’t have a sump area if there is large culvert pipe as the outlet.

  • @PocketsandOutlaw
    @PocketsandOutlaw7 күн бұрын

    Ah I see Also, after referring to some local manuals, deep sump catch basins aren't as effective when there is an inlet due to sediment resuspension. So assuming one of those pipes is an inlet, any sediment removal would be likely negated.

    Low spot? Excess surface water because of poor soil conditions or bad landscaping is best managed by installing catch basins with solid pipe. French drains are really for high water table conditions that present a hazard to buildings or retaining walls. They are not for episodic rainstorms. You should have regrade the ground to eliminate the low spot. Install catch basins and use solid corrugated pipe eliminating the need for gravel and microfiber and saving money.

    If you level the channel drain how does the water know which way to go?

  • @StormWaterDrainageSolutions
    @StormWaterDrainageSolutions8 күн бұрын

    Good question, water travels the path of least resistance so once it enters a channel drain that is level it will go down both directions. This is why we always recommend that both sides to your channel drain system have a way for water to escape.

  • @StormWaterDrainageSolutions
    @StormWaterDrainageSolutions13 күн бұрын

    We don’t like using pvc perforated pipe for French drains because there is not enough inlet on the pipe. Corrugated is far superior for yard drainage. It’s a shame that it has gotten such a bad reputation because of poor installation practices and bad quality material being used.
