when aladdin's castle closed in west town there was a void of arcades for the LONGEST TIME in madison.
Great episode! Roddy is the man, those are some incredible ICB skills.
Thanks, Roddy is crazy good!
All modern games, big thumbs down.
He owns a ton of retro and indie stuff, but he takes it to conventions. This is a pretty old line up too, the arcade could have changed a lot.
Very sexy
Was thinking of going yesterday but I had to get up early for work today. Still gotta see what I can do on Galaga now that it supposedly set to defaults for the extra ships.
Yeah you need to get on that. Going for the world record?
I'm not that good but I did kill screen my Arcade 1Up Galaga ONCE without cheating. (Didn't use the no enemy fire cheat)
2:40 - It looks like the T2 cabinet had only one gun attached to the CPO in this video, but when me and my brother went there today, I saw that the player 2 gun was attached. So I hit both start buttons and tested both guns, and I was happy to find out that both were 100% working!!! The recoil feature on the player 1 gun was the only thing not working, but the game was in 100% PLAYABLE CONDITION!!! So we played the game and almost beat it, but we eventually gave up on the final boss (T-1000) after having to restart the level multiple times. :( Also, between the Galaga and Neo-Geo cabinets was a Fast and the Furious Drift cabinet, which was turned on, but it was stuck on a DOS screen during the bootup sequence. :(
I'm glad to hear they made the repairs on that T2 cabinet. I filmed this in late February when we visited to demo Galactic Battleground. That T-1000 is hard to beat.
@@IndieArcadeWave When we went there yesterday, the Galactic Battleground game wasn't there anymore. That game probably would have been a fun one to play.
@@IndieArcadeWave what games were all on the Neo-Geo cabinet besides Bust-A-Move and Aero Fighters 2?
This Arcade looks amazing, I would have went ham in there 😆
James has a solid lineup. I really like his Attack From Mars and Food Fight.
This is my favorite arcade! Did you know they recently redid it? They made it more spacious. They made the back room (the room with the modern games and figures) into two rooms! One a dark room, with more stuff, and the other a room with modern games and Pokémon battles!! It’s so cool!
I didn't know it was redone. I knew Eddie was planning on remodeling but I haven't been back in Florida since filming this.
@@IndieArcadeWave you should definitely check it out when you come to Florida again. It’s great! The second dark room is a bit hot, but other than that it’s awesome
You can definitely walk around more freely too
This place is a hidden gem. And I love the nerdy gamers that come. I feel like I belong 🤣
kinda cool to see an arcade version of Nidhogg II
It's amazing to play, feels more natural than it does on console or PC.
Super nice collection.
I agree, a great balance of must haves and rare games mixed in with shooters and pinball.
If Heaven was a place on Earth....this is it. I live about a 20 min ride from the Ghost, I try to visit every 3 months. If you're in Chicago visiting stop in Brookfield IL and hit this place up.
I live like an hour away. I go there super often.
Good, yours blessed to be that close to an arcade like that. I'd be there all the time.
I agree. If you are ever near, you need to check it out. I'd be visiting all the time if I wasn't 7 hours away.
Wow so cool. I have subscribed. Thank you so much for taking the time to do that video. As a massive lover of retro gaming it has always been a dream of mine to go to here. But living in the UK it is quite a trip for me. You may be interested in a tour I did of Europe's biggest arcade venue like here, called Arcade Club in Bury (Near Manchester in the UK)... Here is definitely bigger, but it has some they don't have there, so may be interesting for you and others to see. In KZread If you go on the RGDS Podcast and search for Arcade Club you should find it.
That's awesome, Doc has visitors from all over the world show up at Galloping Ghosts. I will go check out that video I love seeing arcades. Seeing a big arcade in the UK would be sweet. I get to see some in Japan in a few months.
@@IndieArcadeWave Watched every second of your video now and Galloping Ghosts is insane how big the place is. Will definitely have to arrange a trip there, as that place is so special. In UK we have three Arcade Club venues... Bury (near Manchester), Leeds and Blackpool, but Bury is the really big one. There are smaller other venues like Timewarp (at Bridgewater), but only Arcade Club Bury would be worth making a journey to.
Are those the retrofitted, the beagle animatronics from the Chuck E. Cheese pizza time theater at 0:02
I believe they are. Unfortunately, they weren't turned on when I was there. Maybe I'll see them on next time I'm there.
Saweeeeeeeeeeeet!
Right, awesome location, decoration, and selection of games.
@@IndieArcadeWave I need to get out more. Just to arcades though.
really loved his feedback on being a new arcade. I am going to have to sacrifice for years to make it happen. currently 41 games.
The collection is growing! I feel like the last time you gave a number, it was in the mid 20's. Your are well on your way.
as always great info. thanks for doing this!
I'm happy to do it. I love hearing more about the business and helping other owners and future owners.
Way to end it with that lovely X-Men Arcaded 6-player version. Also wow that Primal Rage 2 cabinet. The Golfland I lived across the street from in the town of Milpitas near San Jose Bay Area had it there for a minute, although I don't recall if I saw it (I certainly remember Primal Rage 1). Weird to definitively see it now.
Yeah that X-Men cab is nice isn't it. Primal Rage 2 is a crazy rare cabinet, Doc built this one. A friend sold him the board and he built the cabinet around it. When we spoke about that he said there are only a few known to exist, it never got past testing. He told the whole story in the first interview I did with him.
I just want Gungeon 2, man...
I feel that the first one was so good and it's been a long time since it came out. Maybe one day, who knows what Dodgeroll and Devolver are up to.
Turns out it's not a joke, but it probably should have been. I mean really, you're trying to turn a top down Survivors style bullet hell into an FPS gun shooter.
Have you tried it? They didn't try to turn it into anything, they just took a different direction with it. I love the original, and I think this is one of the best light gun games I've ever played.
@@IndieArcadeWave The original wasn't worth playing for more than an hour, why would I play a remake that holds none of the originals concepts? The point of my comment is that this is only related to the original by the art style and reused assets. The number of people this will reach compared to the effort (or lack thereof) objectively makes this a conceptual failure.
There is already one at Legends Arcade in Olympia Washington. I have had a great time with it. The light guns could have a longer cable but otherwise it was a fantastic time.
I agree that a slightly longer cable would be nice. I think it's the length it is, so it doesn't hit the floor if someone drops it.
This looks fun
It's super fun! I love Switch N Shoot. You can play it on Steam and Switch.
@@IndieArcadeWave Nice! I hope my arcade gets it
Amazing! Can't wait ti simehow play it
What are some arcades near you? Let them know you want it. Customers telling the arcade to bring in these games work way better than us, telling them to bring them in.
@@IndieArcadeWave You got it!
Let them know they can reach out to me for any indie arcade questions.
So exciting to see a new Atari game & arcade cabinet being made! And so exciting to see this innovation & variation of Food Fight! Food Fight was one of my favorite games on the Atari 7800. I do hope that after a few years as an arcade exclusive, to not hurt the arcade sales, that is is released on other platforms, especially Atari VCS. Actually, Atari VCS has such a small userbase that it probably wouldn't affect arcade sales & it would sell really well on Atari VCS, as its a passionate community always starving for more games on the system.
I'm glad you are interested in it. I'm sure you'll get to play it soon. That's not a bad idea. We would like to keep it arcade exclusive, but that's a good community to release it to.
I wanna go there not just for the arcade but also wanna play the mini golf course and fire balls at the instrumental box
Those are all fun things! I always enjoy visiting Can Can.
My favorite arcade games I'll play are skee ball and pinball machines I will also film the course on my channel
I played about 40 games of this tonight, but how do you change the level?
When you are on the main screen before you ready up, you move the joystick left or right, and it changes the map.
Hey! On your next tour maybe you could go a litlle FASTER so that way we won't be able to see any of the machines. Just sayin 🤨
I didn't film this one. I slowed it down as much as I could. I'll keep it in mind to mention that in the future.
The Sega Jet Rocket electromechanical game is definitely the best part, in this commenter's humble opinion
That's a great one!
What was that cockpit next to the Pole Position cockpit?
SubRoc-3D! Very uncommon game, especially as a cockpit.
@@DrMrProfessorPatrick Interesting. Don't think I've ever seen that. Thanks!
Thanks for the good eye @DrMr I wasn't sure. I've never seen one.
I'm not gonna lie. That's a really cool custom cabinet, and I would play the hell out of it (even if I'll become bankrupt after playing it). ☕️🍵
The good thing is that this arcade is pay to enter. Once you're in it is free play. So you won't spend that much playing it.
Why do you morons do a podcast? Seriously asking? I mean literally who tf are you and whybshould I care what you say lol
I am going there July 11th it's going to be a four hour drive for me, but it's sure as hell going to be worth it.
I'm sure it will be. Since I posted this, they have added a bunch of new games. It'll be super fun to visit! Let me know how it was.
I'm going there tomorrow 😂
It's a cool spot! Are you going to play mini golf or just hang out in the arcade?

@@IndieArcadeWaveI heard they were doing something with Juneteenth tomorrow there. Plus I've never been before
Great video!!! Good job Rusty and I really loved hearing about The Game Preserve history. 👍 You guys rock and I'm happy to hear you guys are still doing great after all the challenges you encountered!
Thanks for checking it out! I love hearing the stories behind these arcades and learning why people around them support them.
I’ll be in there for hours 😊
I was there for 5 and just scratched the surface. I could spend 30 hours in there and still miss games.
Awesome to see Savage Quest running! hope you played it! ;) Super Rare game. Still have the version no one else has, but great to see most the games up and running this year.
I didn't get a chance to play it. I feel like everything there is rare. I played Ribbit, Beavis and Butthead, and so many others. It's hard to play everything. It'd take days.
@@IndieArcadeWave Very Very True
damn that hallway is like 500ft
Right It just keeps going. The art is so cool in there!
@@IndieArcadeWave think it must be the most custom mural ive seen on any of your posts. might have cost them 20k + for that.
I prefer the ghost in Brookfield
Another amazing arcade. I don't even know that you can compare them. One is a small arcade bar, and one is the largest arcade in the world at over 987 games. I just did a video there, too.
Awesome! Why are so many arcade cabinet marquees not lit, but others are?
Some were out, some were faint, and my camera wasn't getting a good shot, so some of it was filmed on my phone. So, it's probably a combination of all three things.
Marquees are quirky things. Original lighting was done with fluorescent bulbs which have transformers and starters, all of which are becoming obsolete. As the marques fail, we are replacing them with LEDs that run off of 12v that we get either from the existing power supply or a 12v transformer/power supply is added to the cabinet to light it.
Beautiful location. Love the cocktail tables and wood rail pinball.
I didn't focus on the cocktail tables much but they were cool to see. Most arcaded skip them other than the Pacman one.
Crt?
I'm not 100%, but I'd say no because of how it shows up on film. Crts always have the refresh lines.
So beautiful ❤😎🤙🏽
It's a nice cabinet, super cool to find.
Visited Logan summer of 2019 to pay respect to the KQ scene. I remember sitting in the first room, watching the animatronics with a local of the scene and all I could say was "Wow, this place is really special, isn't it?"
I agree. It's a really cool arcade. They use the space so well, and the game selection is awesome.
Is he the arcade Guy from tiktok, who walks towards the Camera and explains things!?! 🤔
Yep, that Coe. Shows how effective his approach is.
🪞
Looks nice
Looks like somebody stopped by Logan!
I did, I'll be posting a full walkthrough soon. What an awesome arcade.
It looks like......Pinbot! 😂
Bingo! Your guess is correct.
