This did happen to me, it has killed my self-esteem. I'm also no longer on speaking terms with my old team members.

I believe this is an appropriate place to share a concern that many of us might relate to. It's challenging when those with significantly more experience, such as 15 years, expect the same level of knowledge from someone with only 1.5 years of experience. This often leads to uncomfortable situations where seniors criticize juniors publicly, which can be particularly damaging for those who are sensitive or have had difficult past experiences. This kind of treatment can contribute to feelings of depression and anxiety, making it even harder to perform well at work. It's important for us to foster a supportive and understanding environment for everyone, regardless of their experience level.

Be a nice person and do great things but outside your job. Life is short to live under toxic environment. Go do great things and you will find right type of crowd to cheer you back.

Just observe keenly what’s going around you. Don’t judge. Just observe and take action. That’s enough. There are no harsh realities. There are only realities.

Thank you so much for this. Even I used to be under the impression that if so just work hard, I would get noticed automatically without me having to speak up, but when I was proven wrong. When I asked for promotion, a senior manager asked me why I hadn’t spoken up earlier. I did get my promotion, but that’s because I had a good manager. But the important point is that we need to speak up and convey our thoughts to our managers

It's a paradox that many companies have a motto... by preaching "just be yourself" or "act real".... when the truth is if you show up as yourself you more than likely will not be liked

This is story of government sector as well. And the worst part is that your hard work DOES NOT get converted into anything. You can predict the salary and your position 30 years from now. Atleast in corporate, you have an opportunity to become visible to upper heirarchy.

Sir don't you think the Govt should interfere in corporate politics and lay certain policies that is applicable to all corporates so that the torture the employee faces can be reduced and if any corporate fails to adhere to govt rules that corporate sector shall be heavily penalized for violating the code of conduct

sir what if job is not written in destiny wherever an employee goes to any organization he faces insults, humiliation, politics, back biting, exploitation, no recognition, hatred plus sometimes even racist abuse related to caste so what should he do? not all can do business? what if there is natural friction among the colleagues or senior manager or team leader then what to do in a hopeless or a helpless situation?

Unfortunately so true. And bigger the company the more this happens. I sometimes regret being a "YES MAN" sometimes. Although I climbed the corporate ladder I would have been better off not doing this. Never too late though. I have been working on this...

If your manager discloses about your pip to your colleague indirectly, like sending an email to a group email which your colleague, you and your manager has access to, is not ethical, correct?

You are right when you say that our first reaction sets the tone for the rest of the job. However, if the employee is in early stage of career, they may not have the confidence or the composure to deal with such people. What if we try to draw boundaries later on? How much can they impact & get us the deserving respect. Genuinely asking. I was highly suicidal because of this all happening. I pray people with a pure soul do their own business, than to work with dirty games and soul-less people. Om namah shivay.

hello sr i have received mail Dear Member, This is to inform you that our annual performance cycle has been concluded successfully. We have carefully evaluated the contributions of each team member to ensure alignment with our organization. Upon thorough evaluation, it has come to our attention that your fitment is misaligned with the current expectations and needs of the organization. Considering this, your manager and HRBP will be reaching out to you shortly to discuss the details of future plans. Your patience and cooperation during this time are greatly appreciated. what does that mean can u please help me on this 🙏🙏
