  On a budget graph paper is a handy option for inbox and tracking just so easy to make yourself templates rather than having to buy everything. Even just to figure out sections before committing to rings or other purchased templates/inserts like in bullet journal. Love graph. As someone who’s tried nearly everything taking apart books and punching pgs is a great way of reducing wasting the money spent on say; midori etc. I love all the vellum, fall suits you x

  I have exactly the dame problem with all the daily inserts!!! When i look at them, i think how much i need to do, and i just don't want to see them again! It's getting better now, but that's how it was for 12 years! I used monthlies and weeklies only!

  On personal wide- it’s actually fairly easy to find covers and inserts. For those who like B6 books, personal wide is a great option because the paper size is fairly close. But most insert shops have personal wide, and many of the popular cover makers will also make personal wide. 😊 I have had zero issues finding inserts and dividers to fit my personal wide planner system.

  Patina is if the leather gets darker over time. If the color doesn't changed over time it, then it doesn't patina

  yes! agreed! I just can't share the patina (or talk about comparison of a patina) on a cover that I had received only the day before! But I will make sure to post an update in the future once the Toscana gets a lot of love!

  i’m a bit late watching this video but it’s so nice to hear someone talk abt the overconsumption in this hobby without the condemnation i’ve heard others speak with. you were so well-spoken and put into words a lot of the troubles i’ve seen in the community! and i think we all make mistakes. it’s important we learn. i myself have fallen into the rabbit hole of ring planners the past month and want to make large purchases since i am easily influenced, but i’ve stopped myself and tried to use what i had first to see if it would truly work for me. thank you for such a wonderful video 💛

  I know of her inserts and I looked into them when I first moved into pocket! She didn't have exactly what I was looking for though, and I didn't want to demand a custom or anything, haha! If she had an insert that would work for me I would IMMEDIETLY hop on that train! I love her inserts so much!

  thank you! I just used my phone (a Samsung flip 4) and a stand from amazon. I will try to add the specific one to my amazon storefront within the next day or so. I also only use daylight. I think this video was right in front of my sliding door-wall and that was it in terms of lighting!

  i’m about halfway through and this video is so refreshing. i’m just getting back into the planning community after stepping away for a lot of the reasons mentioned here in the video. i mostly found myself with a planner that was curated based on whatever everyone else was doing with their planners. being influenced instead of inspired. i’m happy to report that i am back and im in personal rings filofax and i love it here lol

  My best size is B6, I need the space to think haha. I hope more shops in the future will do nice covers in that size. I can't find many I like the leather of.

  I love B6 notebooks, so I use personal wide rings because it’s the closest in paper size :) Personal wide is very readily available as well!

  I recently switched to an a6 rings. I absolutely love it and your videos. One of your videos convinced me to try a6 rings. I did want to add to your video Amazon does have some true a6 inserts. The brand is Handy Forms. The selection is very small but I really like the two kinds of lined notes pages. I also just tore up an a6 stalogy to make pages with grid paper. I thought I would share what I recently discovered for the a6 size. I hope this helps. Thank you so much for your amazing videos.

  I do not. When I was in pocket, I was not "doing KZread." I have recently purchased a new pocket cover, but since I'm not yet sure how I want to use it (I got less than a week ago), I haven't filmed a video for the public! I just posted a flip of what I have currently to my patreon. My patreon generally gets more of my in-the-thick-of-figuring-stuff-out content, and KZread gets the results.

  I just setup my A6 ring planner listening to this video from the bound dated planner and another bound store bought A6 planner and A6 printables. In the moterm luxe planner. Yes, not in the A6 ring planner, in the pocket luxe planner. And I love that the cover is not as huge as the A6 cover! Oh, and I , of course, switched the rings from 30 mm down to 20mm, otherwise, the inserts wouldn't fit!

  My Kaki/Undyed Toscana is very squeeky. It's mostly the undyed that gets that nice "sound", just like with Epoca leather.

  My fave "productivity" book is _Time Management from the Inside Out_ by Julie Morgenstern. When I was reading productivity books back in the late 90s, I was a SAHM, trying to balance home maintenance, driving kids to afterschool activities, and having time to sew. David Allen's terminology just did not resonate with me. I found that many of the productivity books, especially those written by men, were written for executives who had minions to whom they could delegate menial tasks. Time management for moms is more related, in my opinion, to time management for secretaries -- both are often interrupt-driven and don't usually have minions to delegate to; many tasks can seem low-priority (like cleaning toilets) and repetitive (washing dishes, doing laundry); some productivity and time-management books don't address these. Julie's book helped me define my Major Goal Areas, and set my "Whys" for those areas -- for example, if having a picked-up, clean & welcoming home is a priority, then cleaning toilets on some schedule becomes important. (And as an aside, because I have defined my Major Goal Areas, that have remained the same for the past 35 years, I am not at all interested in Cultivate What Matters, Makse Life, or other planners that have their own defined life areas -- they are not mine (and they all have too many areas; most people can't pay attention to more than 4 or 5 categories at one time)

  Lovely comparison. Veg tanned leather darkens but chrome tanned don’t. I don’t expect that will change color. But should get some sheen but not a lot and not as dramatic as a veg tanned.

  Since the Toscana is vegetable tanned (not chrome tanned) it will most likely darken en soften over time. And get lots of patina!

  I went from pocket to true A6. I love it. I'm still using my pocket for edc. I do think it was easy to find A6 print. I found many shops on etsy have them.
