Hi! I am Boryana Korcheva, an artist and art lover outside the “art establishment”.
In this channel I am talking about art as one member of the public to another. Art is no rocket science, nor is it reserved for some kind of elite. Rather, it is one of the greatest joys of life and as such, it is ours to have.
Let’s go!
New video and new conversation every other week.

Rego is an artist I've only become aware of recently. When I first saw her work I was totally stunned by its power and excellence. I think she's up there with artists like Louise Bourgois. As you say, completely blows crud like pickled sharks and unmade beds out of the water.
Conceptual art is only about the idea itself (=the art happens in the mind ). Visual aesthetics might distract our minds. Though, I agree that these price tags are counterproductive. Who the heck pays millions for an idea? Hmm? That is also a distraction ( ha-ha).
This has always been my feeling, I can’t articulate it as well as you, so glad I found this channel
Contemporary art is nothing more then a cult.
This was brilliant, thank you!
Fascinating ! ❤️
Art painting should be accessible to all artists, allowing them to auction their work, not just a few manipulated by wealthy elites. Every artist deserves the opportunity to showcase their talent.
...and many works of art are a turd
Haha, your conceptual works would definitely stand out (blend in) in a contemporary exhibition.
this hag voice is criminally iritating
9:35 painting is not an original basquiat but someone imitating him
Great vid though
Thank you for this fine video about Picasso. It makes it very plain that his roots were in children's and native's art.
Ridiculing something you don’t understand does not raise your opinion to brilliance. It’s ironic that you criticize their notion that concept (idea) is preeminent when you clearly think that your opinion (idea) is superior.
I like your hair
I could care less about what people think. I don’t follow the crowd and each of my oil painting is thought out with a story mostly from nature. I paint from the soul with an intuitive feel in a light hearted way. My paintings sell. enough said.
Contacts glass ceilings money contacts money corruption. Thats art. Pretentious Duchamp came from a wealthy family what a coincidence.
For artists, the story of basquiat is a cautionary tale. He was chewed up and spit out by the art establishment. The extreme depravity of the scene ended up being lethal. Live fast, die young, leave behind an oeuvre utterly devoid of any aesthetic merit. The cognoscenti meanwhile, will exclaim "ooh"! and "ah"! at what a visionary genius he was, and then peddle his paintings for 100s of millions 30 years after his death. Let that sink in...
As an artist, very few things irritate the shit out of me like when I hear some clueless bourgeois philistine say 'oh any 5 year old kid could do that'...
brilliant! as so much in today's world conceptual art follows the 'philosophy' rich & famous.inc. it is so incredibly dull & stupid ... and no, i don't subscribe to the term 'marketing' genius: the endgame is in the marketing, no genius, not even an airy hue of it. thx 4 the video!
Thank you for this valuable information. I am not an artist. I am just starting to feel an interesst throug te influence of a artist friend. I have to admit that te more time I spend watchhing and listenig, te more interssting it gets.
This was great, thank you.
I actually think the piece about moving rice from one side to the other is very good..! Hamparte is a useful phrase. It allows us to de-categorise these art market types.
Many thanks for your very informative video about the weird art market. Everyone who’s working in art business should watch your video learning about the economical rules within the art business and also about the important facts or persons which or who can influence a market in their favour. Great video!
Olavo de Carvalho é meu guro. Kkkkkkkkkkk Kkkkkkkkkkk Kkkkkkkkkkk Kkkkkkkkkkk
Nice work.
Poor Phillip didn't get offered more Bailey's, only more carrot. I could do an abstract painting depicting his disappointment 😂 This video was a fantastic explanation of how abstract painting works. I have been to many 'affordable art fairs' and wondered why some (certainly not all) abstract art looks so commercial and leaves me cold while a painting by Jean Miro can be a whole world in itself. Even though the big commercial painting uses bright quality paint and energetic shapes. And yet, the smaller slightly cracked and faded Miro painting, draws me in. Your video helped me to understand this so much better. Thank you.
Very informative but you are a call away to settle the fight of difference. Please share your contact number.........
very informative, thank you art unplugged!!
thankyou so much for this. i thought i was going mad
Wonderful video!

Coolooool explanation of abstract art ssss
Shark feet ddddddddd ffffhrjsbdbhdbdbbdbd weed dcf.
Hamparte, brilliant concept. We all knew it but were afraid of speak out.
You're funny. The tuna can was very funny. I like the explanation. I think of the expressions of others when they speak about the art works, and they make me laugh too. 😅
Hello. I did a lot of research before I got into creating art work. I'm into visual, and audio arts. I create art, photography, and compose music, I am a writer as well. I use my art work on my books, and music album covers. I thought of one day seeing my work on billboards in New York City, but that dream faded quick. My art work is out there as covers for my books, and music albums. I've used my work well without galleries, or advertisements. My art is colorful, and very nice. I'm proud of my work.
Awesome… I love that you both have clear and different perspectives. You can agree to disagree
Great video.
Thanks God ....on July 2023 , I finally got the chance of standingin front of this painting in Madrid❤❤❤
Basquiat, though a drug user, was never a "drug dealer" and he was never "paid with drugs." This is simply sensationalist spin to Art Unplugged's episode on Basquiat : )
This is wonderful, delightful; I rarely subscribe before listening to a whole video at least, but I know I'm going to like more of this.
lots of thanks. Very clear and interesting
As an artist trying to penetrate the opacity of the art world this has been very helpful thank you 🙏💞 @wileyarts if you have any suggestions for me it would be endlessly appreciated
Thank you . I really enjoyed this
Thank you for the great video ☺️
Thank you
❤🙏
Hi, Thanks for the captivating and easy video, made me eager for more information! But I wonder, why are we looking at Philip’s drawings upside down? It’s not the way he drew it. I think, a line going downward and upwards has a big difference. I know it was an experiment just to elaborate what was said in a playful way. Tho, it still made me ask this question haha. All the best!
