what a nice surprise that the thing you uncovered about rembrandt was the empathy and compassion. i kept thinking what hidden artistic technique is boryana gonna reveal then you gave the human side. nicely done especially when you put his paintings side by side with other masters and you clearly see his obsession with the human psyche. but poor guy, sad ending

Not quite sure how to answer the question but besides being such a dramatic painter capturing so well the emotions and moods in his characters, Rembrandt seems to be somehow a rebel against the artistic conventions of his time. Thanks for yet another well researched and presented video!👏

Thank you Paula! Rembrandt is a household name - yet, when I asked myself the question first, I didn't have a convincing answer. So I did some digging and reading and came to my own insight into him.

@@artunplugged I never knew/thought how deep and before his time Rembrandt was. The whole perspective to his art is new to me. I find it amazing how thoroughly you always situate the artists in their time and space.
