  I once had a smooth case holden 4 speed , the case was exactly the same except no ribs on it ! Ive had many many holden 4 speeds and never saw that before ! No it wasnt a saginaw ir muncie , it was a holden , i thought the case might have started out as a 3 speed , and someone stuffed 4 speed internals and output housing on it . I wish i still had a pic of it . I also had a factory HT V8 3 speed , it was 3 on the tree V8 box . But you are rite about the M22 , i had a HJ one tonner 202 4 speed M22 and 4.44 lsd sailsbury diff , 1 st was useless , even 2 nd only got you 30 kmh max .

  Euroa is my old home town. I must visit this show next year, I always seem to have something else happening on that weekend. P.S. The giant magpie in the park is homage to Euroa's football team the Magpies!

  I got my VS with a 355 going over Christmas time and love it! The sound and low down torque make it a great cruiser. I was wondering is there a reason you didn't go atleast 10.1 compression ratio? By the way mate love all your vids.

  The machinest said at least 9:5 to 1, so it might be close to 10 to 1. Should go good on 98 octane. Thanks for the support 👍

  I always wanted to do a forged everything 253 V8 , VN heads , de-stroke it to like 2.5 inch stroke , so about 200 ci and let it rev , just like Smokey Yunick did in early Indy cars , he de-stroked a 400 small block to 2 inch stroke and 4.155 inch bore , so about 220 ci so 3.5 litres , it reved to 13000 and made 765 HP. But that's revs and HP not torque. I love the old wives tale " oh the 253 loves to rev !" That goes against all engine building rules , it has the same 3 inch stroke as a 308 , revs come from short strokes and big bores , if the 253 wanted to really rev or was designed to rev it would have had the 308s 4 inch bore and a 2.5 inch stroke , that is still 253 but over square, the way you make an engine want to rev, but GM Holden didn't, they kept the 3 inch stroke and put small 202 Holden Six pistons in it , so it wants to rev even less than a 308 !

  Impressive skid, back in the `80`s I helped a bloke with his white two door XP Futura - V8 with a top loader box, I don`t recall many details but I do remember he (1) broke the borrowed clutch alignment tool and (2) it was too powerful for the std clutch and he kept blowing them, I guess he got better at installing the gearbox after a couple.. 😅
