    This works on my 2023 R. I removed it from the swingarm and worked the sensor up to the rear of the airbox. Rolled up the wire, zip tied it all in a nice round circle and zip tied it to a bracket under the seat, behind the airbox. No more wire to snag. My TC and ABS light stays on just as it would if I turned them off with the button. Mine is a dirtbike and no time for that stuff. The ABS will get you in trouble on fast gravel or loose steep downhill. Thanks for the idea.

    Looks like an amazing ride. I’m at the point of trying to decide what bike to buy and the 690 is currently on the top of the list for me. I come from a motocross racing background and I’m afraid some of the other bikes might feel under powered. Any thoughts?

    @@trailtanadventures901 I come from a MX background 2. with the odd GSXR1000. but last 15 years was ridding 3 diff DRZ400 across western Canada & local totaling 160,000 kls. But I wanted a change settle on a KTM500excf but quickly learned that its a great all day bike in the woods with some gravel but not made for long distance 70mile pr hour ridding with 80lbs of luggage. Than i stumbled on Races to Places W/ Lindon Poskitt maybe your familiar. He drove his 690 Rally Replica around the world entering local races allong the way. I was hooked. Now I look at the 450 Kove and that looks interesting but than I learnt it just as heavy but almost half the power as 690, Nope I’m off that wagon. 690 or 701 is only 20lbs heavier than DRZ400 but what people dont say is that the weight is much more forward so the 690 feels heavier than it is, than again the 690 power is exhilarating. In my humble opinion buy a low kls 690 2020 and up. If your up to it put a Nova wide ratio gear box into it, give the bike incredible legs. but whatever. Than go get some man. Took me a couple hrs no biggy. For BDRs and CDT there is no better bike. KTM 500 excf is to small (I own 1 of them 2) anything bigger than a 690 is to big and heavy. I mean are 690 will do over 120 mph how much faster does a guy need to go. Its a tall bike I'm 5.9 & 56 years old and its not a problem. to install the starter the challenge is the bottom bolt. Service manual says you need to remove the radiator and exhaust to access I questioned if that even works. Cut the starter in half about 3" back from where it bolted to the engine with a carbide blade in a reciprocating saw. It worked removed the bolt and just reinstalled with one bolt like the starter in this video was.

  • @rotor676
    @rotor676 Жыл бұрын

    The cap won't start your bike even with several caps. The caps there to allow the bike to run once it starts with a push start or boosting. Without the cap with a completely dead battery you won't be able to keep the bike running. This only applies to modern fuel injected bikes. The explanation for this is long. But trust me if your bikes battery ever completely fails, lithium batteries are famous for working fine than completely going dead. U won't be able to start or keep the bike running without that capacitor inplace.

  • @Trailryder42
    @Trailryder42 Жыл бұрын

    This way disables ABS and TC on the rear wheel but you still have to contend with the possibility of snagging the cable and damaging it, causing the ECU to throw a code. Don't remember if it prevents the bike from running too. If this mod works, then I suppose you could also just remove the sensor from the brake carrier all together, roll up the cable and stash it inside the frame somewhere out of the way. Don't you think?

  • @rotor676
    @rotor676 Жыл бұрын

    We started with all new tires. Front tire was a Pirelli MT 21 Considered by most the longest lasteing dirt DOT tire available. Itchi Boots approved. Never changed it but it was so badly worn by the end that it was completly unsafe, I’d definetly change it next time. Rear was a Anakee Wild Lyndon Poskitt Aproved. My buddy had a Mitus E09 Slightly better lasting but extremely hard sidewall and hard to change. We changed are tires at the Toaster House Hostile. Phoned in advance. All the thru Hikers and bikers have parcels dropped there. Left $30 in donasion box for disposal of tires. Never slepped there but was offered the option. Dont fuck around with midgrade chain and sprockets either. Buy the best or they wont make the trip. Moto-Master Fusion Dual Ring Rear sprocket. Factory front sprocket. And Moto-Master Rivet (not Snap Ring) Velocity V6 Gold 520 X Ring. Lasts well over 6000Miles. Or the Dirt Tricks rear sprocket very good to. Front sprock is easy to change if you have to and most dealers have them in stock. But you wont need to change. Do it. It was a trip of a life time. even if you have to do it alone.
