thanks for the video! i enjoyed this :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
wonderful little video for a very cool and silly little camera ^^ !
haha cool and silly indeed
Great video, glad I stumbled on it
Your comments are spot on. Last week I saw someone shooting with the same camera and they seemed to really love it. Maybe I should get one myself one day.. :)
what a wonderful review and from a kid of the 70s i love the option of reviewing and then printing ... i have elderly parents and the thought of giving them a picture straight away rather than waiting for me to pick or even find time to select a picture from my lightroom catalogue.
bought this camera a while ago and was not impressed by what was similarly described in the beginning. but this take has changed my perspective on it!
Thoughtful, purposeful composition is the foundation of great photography. I enjoy my camera in the same way you approach using one and for the same reasons. That it helps one to truly stop and smell the roses in life is a bonus. Your selection of images captured were all lovely compositions, kudos.
There was an event at the small company I work for and the "culture" team bought a run of the mill Polaroid for the occasion. Being the only one working there that knows anything about photography I offered to be the one taking all the pictures for the night. The camera served it's purpose in having a physical photo I could hand to people and the joy in their faces when they were handed their print was worth it, but the camera itself was lacking in all the ways you could imagine. This caused me to start looking into what was available these days and I came across the Instax and then this video popped up. I'm pretty much sold on it as while there's obviously all the limitations you mentioned, those limitations add to the appeal. That and being able to use it as a printer is a plus. Good video.
This was a nice relaxing video, thank you for that.
I like the fact that you give the palaroid to the strangers later its so sweet
Love the quality of this video
I got one when it came out and it has lived in my closet since. Might need to take on the next shoot and print some photos.
Thanks Mat, I love the idea of a hybrid camera 📷 I also love your cat 🐈⬛
I love that camera too
I always forget the high production value your videos have! So well edited and i LOVE the little touches you put on things. I've got that camera and Absolutely love it for the same reasons. If it was any better it'd almost be worse. Such a fun camera and a legitimately fun conversation piece.
"If it was any better it would be worse" - POETRY!
Mat - I think I need one of those cameras... one pic a day to print and physically add to my journal might be the kick I need to open it and write... 🤔 (I'm unemployed due to Long Covid right now, and the price point is too high -- but I added it to my wishlist! Maybe my family could all add a few dollars towards it for Christmas... 😉)
aww sorry about the long covid, thats no joke
Loving the pictures 🎉
I own a pricey Leica (a gift from a friend) but I'm also a fan of Wm. Henry Fox Talbot and a practitioner of traditional photographic processes. So, yes - I'll buy one of these. Thank you for the celebrity endorsement! Best wishes from Vermont 🍁
oooh I'm jealous of the leica!
It doesn't need to be perfect, just perfect for you.
exactlly, busking can be excellent
😂i choked on my tea when you aaid " someone can break their leg and also get poked in the eye" i mean... that was superb 👏
haha thanks
Interesting, something just clicked for me. Lately it seems like I'm having these realizations all the time that something I thought was just my own idiosyncrasy is probably an autistic trait. I don't have the "hearing all conversations" issue at all... when I'm entirely sober. On the few occasions when I do drink, it's often at a restaurant or party or similar where there are multiple conversations going on. And what happens? The very first effect I notice from alcohol is that I start progressively losing my ability to "tune in" to different conversations. By the time I have reached the beginnings of tipsy, it's gone entirely. Thankfully by that point I'm also typically relaxed enough that I don't worry about looking like a weirdo if I have to cup my hands behind my ears to focus on someone. I'm now taking the fact that my "conversation tuner" is so easily disrupted as evidence that while it may be appear to function normally, it's hanging on by a thread, with just barely enough brain capacity dedicated to it and nothing to spare. I also wonder if my "normal" is actually normal at all, or if other people perhaps have tuning that goes beyond what I can imagine. Sometimes I wish I could borrow a neurotypical brain for a day or two and see what it's like.
Thank you for sharing this minds ❤ you inspire me
I was a busker myself from 1994-2019 I just got fed up 😂😂😂😂

The first day of somewhere new is usually the most challenging for me. I understand it to be because of my autism. Most people experience some level of anxiety about new things, but in school, for example, I remember having the absolute worst meltdowns both the night before and on the day and subsequent few days of a new year. There's a lot of change involved in starting something new. There are all these rules we have to learn but don't have any instructions, all these new places and people we must familiarise ourselves with by force, and the comforts of routine and repetition don't apply in the same ways as they used to. On the podcast 1800 Seconds on Autism, Alan Gardner, an autistic TV personality, described a similar fear when beginning a new television series. One of the hosts recollected that they developed a mask for beginning their new work environment in order to cope. The host realised that masking was ultimately a bad thing and so he stopped. I imagine performers and autistic people, and of course performers who are autistic, mask in similar ways and for similar purposes - to present ourselves in a particular way in order to fit in/fill a role/escape our identities. I wonder if you're able to find a way to maintain the stage persona without camouflaging the autistic one. Perhaps that's something you already do. If not, maybe it'd help you manage future events involving street-performance-based craziness without getting too burned out.
Fascinating. Finding that balance between stage me and autistic me is certainly a challenge I'm working on!
Nice to find this. Bravo, encore, 🤜🤛
Thanks so much :)
Mr. Ricardo, it looks like you sure are living right! Bravo!
Doing my best!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
These videos are wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing them.
Awww thank you so much
Sat down in Diner today, with loud annoying conversation. I had to leave before I could order. Waitress tried to understand, it got very awkward. I fled. Things can get much worse.
Oh yeah, thats a familiar situation. My headphones rarely leave my ears when I go out alone now lol
Absolutely ridiculous, power crazy security guard with no common sense but a massive ego.
Arse clowns 😂😂. Good one.
Take the train they say. I was once asked to remove & dispose of the strings on my ukulele as they could be used as a garrotte. Watch out....the guy's got a ukulele ! Happy travels & warm arrivals to you.
Without going into *too* much detail, I have had a lot more difficuly leaving the UK than re-entering. In my experience, we're just a lot more paranoid and a lot less laissez-faire then our continental cousins (?)...
That's absurd, they're not dangerous knives whatsoever. I mean, if someone really wanted to, they could try to swallow them. I guess. Which would be dangerous. But. Why would anyone do that? You ought to be compensated for a loss of work-based materials, directly from that person's paycheck. This was ridiculous.
Hi Mat, I think Eurostar owes you a couple hundred pounds!
In the future if something like this happens, don't hesitate to ask for a supervisor or even just another guard for a second opinion. People like this are often not actually acting on logic (even if they are spewing "logic" at you), but acting on their personal feelings; And often, simply asking for a second authority will make them change their mind because they know the second authority will likely disagree.
Oh I did this.....
