I hope CJ Carr is the starter next year. Not just because he is the talent, but he is the leader of the incoming class.

I’ll be honest, I don’t remember ever rewatching a loss. When I was younger I remember crying when we’d lose the big games. I can’t imagine being a masochist and doing that to yourself 🤣
Oben & JJB-2 Jersey guys😉
I am really tired of hearing about Riley being a runner. Running will not win anything. The problem is that he is mediocre as a passer.
It’s a nice blank canvas, thank you, have a nice holiday
Yo 1000%? as a fellow ND grad, come on!!
go Irish 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Happy 4th to you Tyler! Thanks for your dedication and sharp responses! Go Irish!
Irish defence didnt look to impressive in spring Game, offence looked better.
Your podcast is my favorite Tyler ! Keep up the great work.Looking forward to see the new studio. Happy 4th
Thank you 🫡
Looking at OSU film won’t heal anything. It’s going to take winning big games and week 1 is that starting point of healing.
Like the hat, Tyler!
I watch and record all the games, but never rewatch a game they lose. That recording gets deleted. I am not into pain.
Thank you for answering my question! Per usual, excellent episode Tyler!
Minchey will leave. Carr will beat out Angeli and Minchey.
Deuce >>>
I hope not!
How much do we think we’re going to rely on Riley as a runner this year? Two surgeries. Replacing two nfl tackles worries me. What if we can’t establish the run and not too sure how special of a passer Riley is.

As an old man and a lifelong ND fan, the Irish are in the middle of a gunfight with nothing but rocks in their pockets.
Thanks for the episode Tyler! Great to hear some insights and forecasting gable from someone who isn't blowing smoke... 🙂Also congratulations on your new place and talking head theater! See you there! Go Irish!
You will miss Estime
Its a shame Payne is out now
MB- I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself, but who do you think is going to be the starting Quarterback in 25? My preference is Minchey because he seems to be the best fit for Denbrock’s offense
Excellent episode. Congrats on the new room. We since the talk of Tyson ford came about more so, what about the status of Brendan Vernon. Is it now or never for him as well?
So Love has gone from 193 to 206LBS ?
I understand why ND still plays Navy. And Kuddos to the University for honoring what the service academy did for ND. However Id love to see ND drop the annual matchup. It’s a lose lose for our beloved Irish.
What’s ironic is that I truly believe that college gameday doesn’t show up if this game is in South Bend.
MB: I’ve posed this question numerous times to various podcast hosts since January and have been mocked and laughed at every turn. But since Lambert has arrived on campus at 318 pounds I feel even more passionate that Wagner needs to move to the d line. Lambert will be 330 next fall 2025. Would love to hear your opinion on whether a 6’6” 290 elite athlete should be moved to the d line before his career as a football player hits a road block? A 330 pound road block. The floor weight of an offensive tackle at the university of Notre dame is no longer 300 lbs. It’s likely 315. Heck the center weighs 308. 3 years in a college football’s weight and nutrition program and he has plateaued at 290. He’s gained 30 pounds of lean muscle mass since his arrival, expecting him to gain another 20-25 is ridiculously unrealistic. It’s time! What say you? 😅
Not reading all that, respectfully
@@ryanhenes6104Then why comment at all? “Respectfully.”

I say let the better player shake out. Was Wagner a d-line stud in HS? I genuinely don’t know myself.
go Irish 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
ZOMG the JINXING>>>>!!!! (Dim knocks continuously and furiously on his wooden desk as he keeps watching!) LMAO, my knuckles gonna start bruising up! Go Irish!
With how Hartman did last year, I'd say it takes a full year to get good chemistry and trust going with a totally new WR group. 😕
Horse meet cart
To win the ND defense may have to take over the game. Mike Goolsby said that is what the teams did that he was on, more than once. The real strength of the team this year is on defense. 5:19
Parseghian and Holts only believed in winning. 2:40 But they were both very successful coaches of other teams in the past. They knew how to “win the BIG GAMES.” They would not have lost to Ohio State last year “when time ran out.”
I hope he doesn't start lol 😂 should be Minchey starting, with Angeli at backup.
Minchey had an above average spring game, not even great should of had 2 picks with the dropped 1 being thrown right to the defender and all the sudden he should start ahead of the huge, mobile, 3000 yard passer at Duke of all places why? Because Riley got hurt against ND last year and it ruined his whole season?
@drumusic5665 you need to rewatch that on peacock. Minchey looked better than everyone but Carr the freshman lol did you not watch? Angeli looked slow and stiff. And Boot Boy was a no show lol what spring game did you watch?
@@nicholasgreen1423why are you being a hater? Support all the players and let the best man start. The odds are on it being Riley Leonard. It’s like a 99% chance. And to top that off, Minchey’s decision making still needs some work. Notre Dame’s defense during the spring game wasn’t doing anything crazy and he was the only QB that threw a pick (almost 2). I don’t believe he’s ready yet. Maybe by next year he’ll be at spot where he can take over but that competition in the room is going to be intense and that’s only a good thing.
@ItsHorizonz you believe what you want to believe. Doesn't make me a hater. The fact that you won't give Minchey props or even a chance to join the competition is sad. Leonard does not have the skill to automatically leap frog the entire depth chart just based on game experience, especially having a continuous hurt wheel. Lol is it crazy to not want to waste the time with a one year transfer player. How's Minchey, Angeli, Carr , gonna improve sitting the bench. I'm crazy for wanting a 3 man qb battle until week 1 instead of anointing a kid who barely made it at Duke lol as a 50% completion passer. Get real. And We shall see lol go Irish.
@@nicholasgreen1423 yeah but you’re discounting a player that Marcus Freeman went out of his way to recruit to the team because he played at Duke and dealt with injuries last year. If we didn’t need him and Angeli and Minchey were the answer, then riddle me this genius, why did we go out of our way to get a transfer? You’re also acting like experience doesn’t play a massive roll at the QB position. If our goal is the CFP, having the most experienced QB starting, who was a target in the off season, should be a huge difference. And sure, if Minchey and co are all popping off every single practice and if Leonard doesn’t heal right and comes back looking shoddy, like he can’t win us the opener, then let them duel it out. But wasting NIL money for a guy who has shown he has enormous proven talent is stupid. You seem too emotionally invested in the fact that Minchey and the rest are our first real talented QB recruits in forever. Put that aside and think about who gives us the best chance to win every game rn. A fully healthy Riley Leonard is a 100% the right answer.
I read this as "will Riley Start" on the preview and thought "man its a slow news day"
Josh Allen type player potential?
100% agreed
Idk if he got the arm talent for that comparison
Another 3 loss season coming…..
Tyler’s got the best hair in the business. Let’s go Irish
I can see ND putting in a package of special plays with Buchner in the slot. He would be a passing threat as well.
Went to the last ND/A&M game at Kyle Field. It's a good game day environment to be sure, but not NEARLY as formidable as it is being made out to be.
Life Long ND Fan. 10-2 Absolutely does not make the playoffs. 11-1 only if the one loss is Ta&m or FSU if they're a top 10 team. USC is too late in the season and probably won't be a top 20 team. But with the way Freeman has been making improvements, and a schedule that is the weakest I've seen in a long time. 12-0 is not a stretch for this season. Not Quite a Natty team just yet, but might get 1 or 2 games in the playoff, depending on match up. Notre Dame is O-line and Tight End U, I'm not worried about the next men in. We'll be fiine. Denbrock should be the deciding factor here. Last year's offense had the potential to do so much more, I think the poor OC hire handi-capped them. This year should be different. And the Defense is what should really shine, you mentioned Watts, but Benjamin Morrison is a Top 3 DB. This first game will be the toughest, because of of the tangibles, it makes or breaks the season. If it makes men out of them and they fight with everything they have and pull it off, the rest of the season should come pretty business as usual until at least the first or second round of the playoffs. I'm not saying that FSU, USC, Lville, GT, will be easy, but because of this first game, they will know that they can overcome anything and fight thorugh it together. Again, not a Natty year, but I believe Freeman has them going in the right direction. And he's learning from and correcting his mistakes. Go Irish.
So you think Marcus should be counting the number of players on the field? Lack of knowledge of the coaching roles
As many of us around here have been saying for the last 12 months, there is no mistaking the parallels between 'Money Ball' and the new tech in ND's recruitment under Marcus Freeman. It is clear that, while he is not the only reason that it is what it is, he is _why_ it is... He is a great recruiter and clearly a sensei in recruit-fu. What he is not/has not been is the game-day coach that, say, BK or Kiffin are. Its doubtful too many people here would trade MF for either of those two guys, but he MUST get the most out of the two true game day guys he has as coordinators this year while we still have them. He is so fast on his feet in so many ways, and if he is going to peer into his naval and meditate on what he needs to fix about himself next, it has to be that. He has the tools; the quality he has in staff and talent is the envy of 97% of the power conferences. You are clearly one of the smart guys in CFB. Fix it coach. Let's GO IRISH!
I do. Love enthusiasm. Love recruiting. Not thrilled with actual game prep and coaching.
GENTS -- Curious if DEUCE KNIGHT has asked other schools to STOP CONTACTING ............ME ?
All those coaches who won or made it to national championship game all had multiple years of college head coaching on their resumes too
And they didn't start practicing at one of the top programs in the country, with all that pressure and attention either...
The Quarterback situation has been the issue for MF since he has started. This year looks better in the Quarterback room. The offense all together has been average but like you said with the OC hire things should look better. Let’s see how the first game and first Half in college station goes.
I’ll be so glad when the Boise and app states of the world are no longer scary to us
