    Thanks for the cast Tyler! Loved it! It should be pointed out that Lambert (ND '24) visited BC, as did Traore (ND '23), after both committing to ND - and while there was some confusion about each one, (the official visits were cancelled, but both players were on campus) 1)there was, subsequently, no confusion as to whether either player was physically there, and 2) there was at least one pretty good reason, and probably at least two good reasons in each case. BC represents a very important route for Roxbury's players and a relationship with the staff at the two places goes without saying. (It takes less time to get from one school to the other than it takes me to get to the grocery store.) Important recruits want to make sure they say but also DO the right things with every visit, non-visit, and coach relationship they have been part of and that their _FRIENDS_ and possie will possibly need to avail themselves of. In both cases those super gets for ND were on BC's campus with friends being recruited by BC. I don't think what was going on could be any more obvious, although that there might be some other 'third thing' like... 'social-time' and 'exploring campus life' partying happening as part of the equation isn't outside my experience of recruiting (even, or especially, at ND) either. While Alabama isn't the only important future destination for West Orange, it isn't an unimportant or infrequent one, either. While I don't have access to details of Taylor's visit, perhaps he's just getting off on the knowledge and experience of the FB culture at Alabama, maybe he was there with friends, or family, or a coach, or making important 'contact' in the evenings for fun, or playing a game with future NIL valuations. Whatever the reasons and conditions, ND plays the game as well as anyone else, and that means using each and every button and lever that each recruit suggests they have by when, how, and with whom they show up. The fact that there is an official visit for ND coming up only means we are in good shape. For the puerile, 48.3% of the ND student population, and 56% of the neighboring St Mary's student population is female. Again, great cast, and GO IRISH!

    Excellent episode. I love your take on the “I’d love it for a recruit to come out of his visit and say that sucked”. When I heard that, all I could think was if there was one recruit who may have said that… Elijah rushing. That was so weird.

    Tyler - The "no visits for committed recruits" really applied only to the 2023 class - I believe that the staff has realized that in order to compete for and hopefully, eventually sign players like Ivan Taylor & Deuce Knight, you need to give them the room they want/need to be 16-17 year old kids and if ND is really for them and they aren't just chasing an NIL payday, they'll still commit & sign with ND.

    So, genuine question here. Where is Notre Dame going to fit all these recruits? I thought the plan was to be at 25 total commits in the class but at this rate, it’s looking more like they want 28. Which is fine if that’s their goal, but I keep hearing 25. They’re still interested in 3 Wide Receivers on top of these 2 linebackers and then they offered Joseph, and Blair. Like how is this going to work with a class that seems near full lol Are they going to start pulling offers from other guys who are committed? I would love to add all these players but I feel like they are running out of room in the class

  • @xandercrews4729

    @xandercrews4729

    They have 21 commits. Let’s say they get 1 of 2 bw NOB & Faraimo. I think they get Blair. Joseph is probably going to Penn St. 3 WRs seems like a long shot. The only way they take 3 is if Meadows is one of the 3. But at most, you’re looking at a class of 26 (21 current commits, 1 LB, Blair, 3 WR). I think Bettis Jr should be made a PWO, he doesn’t deserve a scholarship

    I hear you about Deuce Tyler..but..you've got to get Deuce on the field next year, for several reasons, have some packages for him. The DJ & Deuce show could be SUPER!! DJ starts but have Deuce has at least 8 plays for him..at least. We can win a Naty like that! Not to mention the defense has to prepare for both, which is a win-win. Deuce has really been making HUGH strides with his passing, by next year...you cannot keep him off the field. Thats my option, its a no-brainer in my eyes.

    By definition, committing should be the end of the recruiting process. I don't blame a kid for wanting to evaluate all his options whatsoever; but if he isn't absolutely sure, he shouldn't commit in the first place. To be fair, schools deserve some of the blame for pushing 17-year-old kids to commit before they are legitimately ready.

    Recruiting has become such an overblown affair. First of all, you all listen to a few guys in recruiting services to determine a young athlete's worth who are motivated by bias and their own relationships, if ND loses Ivan Taylor, they were possibly going to lose him later on through portal, if Deuce Knight is recruited away by the highest dollar, then this was destined to happen...if not now then later. The truth of the matter is to get the best athletes you can who WANT to be at ND, can be developed by millionaire coaches. The endless handwringing by some ND fans has become ridiculous
