    Do you have to remove the trigger assembly before taking out the bolt? My rifle is very stiff to cock but don't really want to take out the trigger if I don't need to.

    I have not been out with mine yet but have absorbed a bunch of videos on the MAS 49/56, so I had my Murray Pin on hand! :) Thanks to watching your videos, I already know that I need to shorten and re-round both the original pin, and the Murray one. I'll cautiously go through the motions with mine first, but know I'll experience what you just shared. Thank you again! Side note, my bore was questionable looking at first, I was burning through patches and brushes on it! Worse than I thought to the point I thought I might have a real problem. Through videos like yours, I combined a few tricks of the trade and now have a very nice, well rifled bore. I am in the clear now knowing that this is going to be one of my top three favorite rifles! :)

    First video I have found that taught me, "As we learned" that the hammer needs to be down to disassemble. I just bought one, working on getting the bore cleaned up, and have a modified firing pin with a spring to avoid slap fire. Thank you for your video.

    For those just seeing this now, Steinel makes beautiful new ammo using Starline brass. Around 40 dollars a box, but shoots/cycles perfectly in my example.

    I built the K6MM version. I found using lots of random, and a few very long (30ft, 40ft, 50ft) radials helped a lot. My resonance measured at the antenna with 20ft of coax vs inside the shack was MUCH different. So I started doing the final adjustments from the shack. my windings are not consistent but hey, it works. I see it's a big rubber duck antenna. This is the better than the gutters + 9:1 unun I was using before for 160m.

    What oil were you using for the wood? I was trying to find out what oil I could use for my 1917 eddystone, on the contact points between wood and metal

  • @dennissheridan1550
    @dennissheridan15505 ай бұрын

    You should do your videoing on a neutral colored surface, the grain of the wood competes with the item resting on it and makes difficult to see details very well.

    way to much detail on the assembly of the mechanical, no explanation of the wire connections. Nor no picture of a finished how it looks after being wired.

    I watched the follow-up video first. Absolutely brilliant. I'm doing the exact same thing, using the Milsup poles. I have a 40m hamstick dipole and was looking for a multiband solution. Not sure what I am going to run but looking at the Shark Sets on GigaParts and Amazon. I went with 7/16 for the larger holes. no slippage with the shoulder washers, they fit snug. Many thanks for the wiring design, I will follow it and not jury rig it.

    Just found this video. It answered many questions for me. I must have seen it before because I built the exact same thing. Much credit to you. I tried the double shoulder washers and thought I was doing something wrong. The connection was good and did not short out. looking for the original build now. excellent Video.

    You need to remove the extractor. Builds up crud that interferes with firing pin. Mid way it has a hook over a pin. Just tap it rearward.

    I learned that even inside the buttstock, the Brit engineers removed a chunk of wood to lighten the overall weight. The aggregate of all these little material removal, metal scallops and shavings and cuts enabled the total weight of the carbine to be only 7.5-lbs. Part of the weight savings included removing six inches of barrel and stock.

    In these kits there is a missing component. There is a location marked for R6. Without it the input SWR can be all over the place. The actual value depends to some extent on band, but a good average is 18 ohms 5W, metal film.

  • @cyclecamp1
    @cyclecamp17 ай бұрын

    Thanks for the update. My research showed that R6 is only required with the 100W configuration which uses a double MRF9120 Mosfet. If used at 70W with the dual IRF530N with TO220 case the resistor is not used. If adding it helped stabilize your 70W build then great.

    Cyclecamp1, an article by Jean Huon on the Pistol Model 1935A in Small Arms Review gives serial number details. The number of your gun, C 3531, indicates production in 1942 with shipment destination to the German Wehrmacht OKH-Heereswaffenamt Dienstelle (Army Weapons Office) in Paris. A handsome pistol.

    Saw an older gentleman at the range years ago. He was shooting a Whitney Wolverine .22lr semi pistol. They are very Buck Rodgers Space age looking. He let us shoot it, then says "you ever seen the old WAMO, Toy commercials?" We said yeah, and he pulls out a WAMO Powermaster, just like this. Said he bought it at the local mom and pop Drug Store, thinking it was a Pellet Pistol. When he was only 12 years old.. He said he had another that he rechambered in .22 WMR.. We fired the .22lr he had with him and it was very accurate and had a sweet trigger on it. He said they didn't make very many of them at all..

    Just ran across this video and the following one regarding building an octopus. I've built a number of dipole mounts for my hamsticks (I have pairs of all Shark Mini's except the 80M are full size and a 60M pair are MFJ). I use my hamstick dipoles for almost all my portable adventures and have been very pleased with the results. I've looked around trying to find a reasonably priced octopus/spider mount or even one of the Chameleon Che Quads but no luck. Your videos are just what I was looking for. I ordered the parts to build a quad mount since I would probably only use two bands on most portable outings. Thanks for the great videos! Jack K5FIT
