    This backpack was created for travelers and 12 year olds, back pocket fits textbook and laptop, middle pocket fits journals, and the front pocket fits whatever the hell you want, and bottom pocket fits a lunchbox

    Good comparison, thank you. I own Quasar 26 and very like it. Have had before about 10-12 different EDC backpack 🎒 and now this Quasar is my favorite now for day usage. Nebula is great for weekend trips when you need more space as you mentioned. But nebula has to much space especially for me as EDC backpack. Also side belts are truly annoying for daily use, I had similar backpack but finally sold it.

    Do they both self stand?

  • @Backpackies
    @Backpackies5 күн бұрын

    Good question! Yes, they both can stand on their own as long as you don't pack them to be too front heavy. The Quasar especially likes to tip if the weight of packing on the inside isn't even.

    @@Backpackies"The laptop compartment in the borealis i about 3 inches above the bottom of the bag, it's a very odd design choice by The North Face" It floats 3 inches higher to protect the laptop when the bag is put down or dropped. It's called a suspended laptop sleeve, not an odd design choice. Amazing review....😂😂😂

    Anyone know if the Nomatic can fit a 16" MBP and a 15" MBA? I'm a little worried about its ability to fit that Air, the tablet sleeve didn't look like it have a ton of room for the bigger footprint of the 15" Air.

    Are the Quasar's daisy chains load-bearing, or just there to hold the bungees?

  • @Backpackies
    @Backpackies15 күн бұрын

    The daisy chains on the Osprey Quasar backpack are primarily designed for attaching lightweight items and securing the bungee cord. They really aren't intended to be load-bearing in the sense of carrying heavy weight since the daisy chains are only held together by some stitching. Hope this helps!

    I was really hoping they would make the Lite a no brainer for me since some things about the Pro are a bit overkill. A couple of design choices perplex me a bit though and have me looking at other bags as I'm still not sure the Pro is exactly what I'm looking for. 1) Okay, they removed the admin panel. I can live with that, but if removing that, why make that front side access pocket so much smaller than what is on the Pro? If they are going to remove the admin panel in the Lite, they should have at least kept that same large access/capacity panel on the front instead of shrinking it. To me, this is a bizarre choice and one that ended up being more of a big deal to me than I would have thought. 2) Why not just have thin sperator pocket for a tablet or a second device in the laptop compartment? I think I can live with this not being there, but it really would have been nice to have just a little more going on there to make multi device travel just a bit easier. Doesn't have to be to the level of the Pro, but a little something! With that being said, I still may end up getting the Lite as there is a lot I like about it, but was not the no brainer I was hoping it would be to have me pull the purchase trigger on release day.

  • @Backpackies

    It looks like Tortuga tried to make the Lite as light weight as possible and sacrificed organization in the process. Agreed, that a larger front compartment, or even an extra pocket, would have made the Lite perfect.

    hi, I'm planning on buying the borealis, and I'm 5'1 would you think it will look too big on me?

  • @Backpackies
    @Backpackies21 күн бұрын

    Hi! The women's Borealis will fit you just fine. Just make sure to snug up the shoulder straps so that the backpack lies higher up on your back, this allows the lumbar support on the back panel to hit where it's supposed to. If you're looking for a smaller bag in the same style, you might want to check out the women's 22L Jester. It has a shorter length, which might be perfect for you!

    When placing the backpack on a table or any surface, it often tips over and falls to the ground due to the unevenly designed bottom. It is not recommended to buy.

    does the day owl pro have a false bottom?

  • @Backpackies
    @Backpackies26 күн бұрын

    It has a thick strip of foam at the bottom of the laptop compartment instead. There has never been a problem with the laptop hitting the ground since the foam piece absorbs most of the shock.

    does a 16 inch MacBook Pro fits on both backpacks or only the not mini one (without case/ with case)? another question: I'm around 1m72, will the big backpack look really big on me and make me look short? (and what would be the recommended height for it) and which backpack is the most comfortable? thank you!

  • @Backpackies
    @BackpackiesАй бұрын

    A 16 inch Macbook Pro will fit the Mini but it's a really tight fit to the point where we wouldn't recommend it. The model in the video is only slightly shorter than you at 170cm so that should help decide on the size.

    Love the design of the Pro but i'm worried about the shoulder straps on the Pro are too solid and it will cut into my neck. Do you feel uncomfy with it? p/s: should i choose the 5.0 for comfy

  • @Backpackies
    @BackpackiesАй бұрын

    The Hustle 5.0 is the better choice if you're after shoulder strap comfort-the squishy straps will contour to the shape of your shoulders, unlike the straps on the Pro that just sit on top because they are so stiff. The straps on the Pro aren't super uncomfortable but you can tell the Pro was designed for people with broader shoulders and not a universal fit. When worn back to back, the 5.0 feels like pillows in comparison. Hope this helps!
