In this video, we show you some of our favorite backpacks that fit large water bottles in their side pockets.
Water bottles we used to test:
- Hydro Flask 40 oz with a boot (32 oz Hydro Flask is the same diameter - so it will fit too)
- Owala Tumbler 40 oz
- Stanley Quencher H2.0 40 oz
- Yeti Rambler 64 oz
While it's impossible to test every bottle on the market, we are also pretty confident they can fit other 40 oz and 32 oz water bottles like the Owala Freesip 40 oz, Nalgene 32 oz, Blnk Day Bottle 27 oz, Hydro Flask 32 oz and most 40 oz tumblers.

2 - Patagonia Atom Tote Pack 20L
It’s tough finding a small backpack that fits a 32 oz water bottle let alone a 64 oz bottle. We wouldn’t have believed these large water bottles fit unless we tested this pack ourselves.

3 - Osprey Proxima 30L
The Osprey Proxima is perfect for anyone looking for a laptop backpack with a big water bottle holder because these side pockets are huge! Fits water bottles up to 64 ounces.

The Daylite Plus gives you deep stretchy water bottles holders that can fit bottles as big as 64oz. Smaller bottles stay in place because of how deep the pockets are.

5 - Sherpani Camden Convertible Backpack
A cute backpack with deep pockets that can securely fit water bottles up to 40 ounces. Great option for an Owala Tumbler or Stanley cup backpack.

6 - Rains Trail Mountaineer Bag
The Trail Mountaineer Bag has a MASSIVE side pocket. It can easily fit half gallon bottles like the Yeti Rambler 64 oz.

The Recon backpack will fit a 32 oz Hydro Flask or 40 oz Hydro Flask with ease. Undo the compression strap and you’ll be able to fit a 40 oz tumbler in there too.
