  I like your painting a lot and recognized Our Ladys Church at the first glimpse (I live not far away). It’s great, how you choose other colours than the original and still catch the scenery and mood (even more so than sticking to the photo). I am not brave enough to do so but I will give it a try. Thank you for the inspiration!

  Thank you! I always experiment a little for each painting I do and with this one I was trying out the idea of different color combination. Most of the time I am not brave and in that case I will do a color thumbnail to find out if my idea works.

  Hi @yara8271, after I've done all my sketches and value studies, I usually put the reference photo away when I paint to keep myself from looking at it. Hope that helps!

  Again, I love your palette of colours, it really suits the architecture. Also, the simplifying of details improves the painting. 'Less is More'! as they say. Your technique is great in my opinion and as I am lover of pen and wash building paintings I am very impressed. Well done!

  Thank you so much for your support. Yes 'less is definitely more'. I used to do a lot of pen and wash building paintings when I first picked up watercolor again. I will still paint some pen and ink buildings in the future.
