@@TJ_Beam I was there/here when J OK died, I was here when he had a horrendous car accident. John went through the windscreen at a time before safety glass and tore up his face dreadfully, as a matter of fact there is some where a documentary or movie that shows the actor playing John with his nose well to the left of its proper position a scare running from centre left of his for head down his nose and forking to ends on both cheeks. One side of that scare had flesh bunched of his for head and the other side had the same under an eye, the doctors must have sewn him up so quickly to stop the bleeding they had no time to worry about placement. It took three plastic surgery to put it right. John was always an up tight sort but the crash effected him mentally and it took strong seditives to settle him to sleep. His wife, some years later on the mid day show channel 9 stated that the night before he died she and John had the worst fight of their marriage. John was walking out of the kitchen as she cleaned up, be gone for a couple of minutes and then return to resume the argument before leaving again. He was dead the next morning. The autopsy said he had three time the recommended amount of seditive in his system three times was the number of times he left the kitchen and then came back. The autopsy said suicide but his wife said after the car accident he could forget any thing and every thing and she was sure he simply forgot he had take thre tablets twice and took them a third time. It was a long time ago but im sure my memory is at least fairly accurate.

I’m intrigued by Tilly Devine’s story as she used to have one of her brothles 5 minutes away from where I live. The house named ‘Interbane’ is a landmark in itself situated on the corner and peak of the mountain, Lawrence Hargrave Drive at Stanwell Tops/Bald Hill NSW 2508. My interest lies in that for 2 reasons. As a teenager one of my best friends parents owned and lived in that house in the 1980’s. Secondly When i was 18 I met a old local lady named Betty Katingle who was Tilly’s assistant in running the brothel at Interbane. Betty’s brother was Tilly Divines personal chauffeur. Some of my friends and I would sit with old Betty at our local club and listen to her many stories of those days. Betty was outwardly very proud of her history and would recommend to us young women about the benefits of prostitution. 😂 She was always a bright and colourful woman who still dressed and portrayed herself like she was as a much younger woman in her years with Tilly. We were all fascinated by her. Some of the older locals at that time also knew her brother well and it is said he was quite the character. If you want to know more research’Interbane’ at Stanwell Tops. Thanks for your video. I feel like i have a connection to Tilly Divine’s story and so to know where she’s interned was of interest to me.

Thanks so much for that great video, to see that they gave him his own special place with a little cross was nice to see. John was a manic person, but he helped all those who asked for anything, if he could give to them he did. Ahead of his time and sometimes his own worst enemy but he did try, without him there would be no Australian Rock n Roll icons as we know them....he didn't do too bad for a small bloke who once said "You can mock me and you may boo me, but you all paid your money too come and see me"....before starting his rendition of his famous song Shout....I didn't get to see him in the flesh but that my friends is what legends are made of.
