    Having trouble finding the exact tutorial you mentioned on independently editing 2 channels. I’m always wary of mic kits with a single receiver bc I fear it’s going to bake all the sound into one file.

    Great tutorial! It's fantastic having Fusion inside Resolve, I still must adapt to all the quirks and differences compared to Nuke (I'm a VFX comp for the movies), but potentially it can be used for any VFX job too!

    This is pretty much the only KZread video I can find with quality information on this topic. I am wondering though, what you recommend my export setting for Amazon Prime be?! They do not give specs and there is no option in Resolve. So, should I use BS.1770-4 OR Netflix as my standard? Also, when dialing in my sound, the true peak is lower (-5.6) than the goal of (-2.0) when my integrated level is at the right setting. What should I do?! Thanks Chadwick!

    Beginner, absolute newbie. This has been super helpful. My podcast episode was averaging -19 dB...way too low. Now that I've used these tips, hovering around -14 dB! I've used Adobe Premier, Vegas, and Descript in the past. I really like Resolve.

    Chad, I wonder if you could do timelines duration markes that show the name allt the time. Not just when you hover it. Aslo I don't like the look of markers. I wish you had an option to let them color the full "time measuring" part above it. You can hardly se what color it is some times on some colors.

    As you describe it it’s total useless. I personally run 40 egb network. My cloud is Nextcloud and I run UnRaid and Proxmox servers. And Blackmagic ignores since long time that they are not EU laws compatible. I will do the hell to use something like this for customers.

    @@CreativeVideoTips Blackmagic is in a consortium and they promote such like soar bear… for me a reason to leave Davinci Resolve as soon I find a good alternative. Just in comparison. Old enterprise server with double CPU including 40eGP network I did pay 50.-$ and for 100.-$ extra 400 GB of Ram this server is able up to 1500 GB of Ram. 40eGB Network included. So why the hell is should invest in an expensive Cloud like Google or Dropbox. I have 480 TB of harddisk space. You guys promote how to burn money…

    Thanks you for busting the "green screen" myth when setting up screen replacement shots. I had to do so many of these in my career and can confirm that most of the time green causes more problems than it solves. However, I'm curious what your workflow is when you actually need to have foreground elements (finger swipes etc) held out in front of the screen? For intermittent, quick finger swipes, it's not a problem to just manually roto the finger for a few frames, but when there's a lot of foreground action for extended periods of time, I've often questioned if I should have told the production to shoot a green screen on the device, since it's a bitch and a half to do all that roto manually, and a green screen may be the lesser of many evils in that situation. The other issue I've run into when roto'ing fingers over a black screen is that it's harder to manage edge fringing, esp. when comping over a bright white screen replacement element. I often have to choke in on the matte a bit or create a separate edge matte and comp the edge using Screen mode to knock out the black. Just curious what your workflow is for situations like this? Thanks for the awesome masterclass that I wish existed 15 years ago when I first started using Monet/Mokey (before was called "Mocha"!)

  • @CreativeVideoTips
    @CreativeVideoTips10 күн бұрын

    Thanks for the support. There is no works all solution for roto, but I think green screen on "screens" is only ever useful for fine hair. When the brightness is very different I will use an edge extend or paint on RGB only technique to pull color back out and mask with the original alpha. The alpha will come from either a shape or sometimes magic mask with some tweaks. I might dive further into this topic because its something I think nobody is covering and I do a lot of it.

    I was wondering why my videos sound so quiet even when I kept the recommended decibal levels for youtube at around the suggested levels. Only after watching this video I've learned that "loudness" was a thing. Thank you so much for the simple explanation! And of course, I am a beginner, standing at only 3 videos, 3 very quiet videos. But the next one is not gonna be that quiet :)

    Thank you for a very useful video! How much reinstallation do I need to do for plugins, templates, transitions that are bought from third party devs? Should they also be uninstalled and reinstalled after a reinstall of DVR? Some plugins are automated installs that place their effects in the right libraries both for SFX and VFX. I for instance have: - Neat Video v5 Pro plug-in for Resolve - The large effects bundle from MotionArray that installs itself in boty Generators, OpenFX->Filters and - The Full MotionVFX bundle that also installs itself in all the relevant folders under effects, transitions, etc. - The Giant bundle from VFX with over 900 Transitions - Some of LLMotions Animated Freeze Frame transitions - Many hundreds of VST effects plugins for Fairlight. Well I assume the VST effect plugins from WaveStudio are the easiest as they simply install in default VST folders on a Windows installation, and DVR already looks for VST plugins there. I also have a few other VST effects and EQ in another folder but these folder I simply add to my VST folder list. But what about all the rest. Some come with installers, and I assume they aren't uninstalled just because I uninstall DVR. Will they automatically reconnect with DVR when it is reinstalled? I can tell WavesStudio start some background process keeping all plugins and effects updated as their logo start spinning on the desktop for a brief moment while DVR starts up. I don't have to keep it running in the background before starting DVR, so I fear that this is something that got added to DVR when I installed the WavesStudio transition bundle on the PC, and that this information might very well have been lost when making a clean installation of DVR? (I'm thinking this installer might do some dirty things and add some starting arguments to the executable or perhaps make some additional values in regDB under some of the DVR keys. I know you are a Mac user so this might be a little tough to answer. ;-) ) Just wondering what will happen if your installation has all sorts of 3rd party plugins. Thanks again for the useful content! Subbed and liked, ofc.
