I paid $6 to watch Super Joe's last jump at Santa Fe Speedway in the Chicago burbs. I watched all afternoon as what appeared to be a Jr High shop class drove nails at random into his launch and landing ramps. It was obvious to my 14 year old expertise that this had no possible way of ending happily. Unfortunately I was correct.

Back in the 70’s I worked with Larry Watsonat hi custom paint shop in Hollywood. He and Evil were good friends back then as were every Hot Rodder and Low Rider in So Cal ! Larry’s out landing work with metal flake and custom inlays on “everything” even had George Barris scratching his head! Larry painted just about all of Evils bikes, helmets, ect. Evil would come by the shop, pull up a bucket or whatever he could manage to sit on and I can’t tell you how much in wonderment I was to be priveledged to listen to those two talk about the “old” times! Man! A cold Beer never tasted sooo good!!’ Those were the good ole days!
