    I have two chibsons myself,a cherry burst standard LP that I absolutely adore, and a black Angus Young SG with lightning bolt inlays,out of all the budget guitars I own,these chibsons are the absolute best,they come the closest to the guitars they are trying to copy, they needed very little work to set up, I put locking tuners on both guitars,the pickups in both guitars sound excellent,no need to change them, I will upgrade some of the hardware just to make them more authentic, people always tell you to buy a Epiphone, I don't like their headstock design,or their price tags either, and the chibsons are quality instruments that can rival any epiphone model, this doesn't mean I will never buy another epiphone or a Gibson guitar, I'm still a fan,but I'm also not going to wait to buy my dream guitar, like the chibson Angus SG I've got,it would take me forever to save up the money for a real one which is around five grand, now I have a stunt double,if you want to test drive a Gibson,buy a chibson.

    What most people don’t know is that Slash’s original Appetite for Destruction LP is not a Gibson, but a copy made by some other luthier. Where it gets funny is that Gibson later replicated that LP copy to make a Slash release. So it’s cool for Slash to have a fake American made “Gibson” Les Paul, but not for the rest of us to have a fake Chinese made “Gibson” Les Paul. 🤔

    It's a great album! They kept the essence while adding a few more layers to their traditional 2-guitar setups. Percussion, extra guitar lines and ornaments... Very tastefully done. One of the main things I'd highlight is the introduction of the wah-wah pedal to Estevan's lead tracks, which is a nice touch. I saw them the other day at their gig at Rough trade (London) and he played Thunderbird with the wah on, which was magical (You can check out the full set on KZread). My biggest complaint is that with the addition of new instruments and ornaments to the album versions, their live versions feel like they're lacking something, but it's normal when working with Dan Auerbach as a producer: he's obviously going to "produce". He already did the same with The Black Keys over the years.

  • @AlexRGuitar
    @AlexRGuitar24 күн бұрын

    I agree!! Those were my same findings. Drums, Organ/Synth, and Wah, basically more layers. Probably production by Dan, or perhaps they were feeling more creative and exploratory. Great record to listen to, but I can see how live it could be missing the fullness of the arrangement.
