i thought the concept was pretty cool but didn’t consider the actual practicality of the product. good review.

My issue with products like these is... If i have to measure wet and dry ingredients for my recipe... Like sugar oil flour... I have to keep washing and drying the spoon again and again or i have to use too many bowls to 1st measure all dry ingrediets then wet ones and put them each in different bowls.... The OG measuring spoons are the best or if you are a baker with every day need then a weighing scale

A couple things: 1. The spoon won’t change anything unless it’s chilled. Otherwise it’s basically just like pouring hot coffee on to ice and I’m kinda surprised one of your glasses didn’t burst from the heat change. 2. While a chilled spoon might change the taste of your coffee and chill the initial parts poured, overall it won’t make your coffee less watery over time unless the coffee is completely chilled before. The heat of the coffee will still be stronger than the coldness of the spoon. 3. That’s not a control glass. It’s not the same glass and the ice amount is probably different because of it and/or just different because you put more in it.

??? If you're worried about it being watered down because of ice cubes, you can make coffee ice cubes, you just need an ice tray.

Scooping directly into dry ingredients with your measuring cup or spoon, as heyitshoneysuckle said she prefers to do, is not really the best way to get an accurate measurement. You tend to pack your light, powdery ingredients when you measure that way. To get accurate measurements, you should spoon the ingredient into your measuring cup until it domes over the top a little. Next, use a straight edge like a butter knife or chopstick to level off the the ingredient in your cup. I just do this over the container I store my dried ingredient in so it doesn’t go to waste. This technique only takes an extra couple seconds and is worth it, especially with baked goods, imo. If you don't wanna do this (or don't want to dirty a bunch of utensils, get a food scale and use it for measuring ingredients. That is probably the quickest and most accurate to measure out your ingredients.
