Many other Tester seem to be overstrained already by the imagination of city traffic. You are quite relaxed and attentive. Have you tried out differences between the 3 driving modes - formerly “Chill,” “Average,” “Assertive“ - with the new FSD supervised? When I look at these videos, I was mainly looking for disengagement due to safty. If it was disengaged due to don't want to be honked, then these type of disengagements are not preventing FSD ready to be robotaxi. 6:30 and 11:11, for example, are situations where should be disengaged...BUT not for safety reason. If robo taxi does those, it is okay. Just continue to improve in the future.

4:20 Ambulance with lights on, FSD doesn't seem to notice 5:35 18 mph over a speed bump. FSD did not slow down at all 10:58 FSD turns right, but does not signal to other drivers 11:08 FSD gets stuck behind a cement truck. Not good FSD still is blind to potholes, broken glass in the street, or a pool of water in the street (after a rain).

Absolutely fantastic drive. So my Model Y was on 2024.8.4, and yesterday I received an update and it only updated to 2024.8.9! So frustrating. Not sure why it gave me that update instead of the latest 2024.14.7 with FSD 12.3.6.

The fact that you are driving a 2018 Model S with Hardware 3 and have the same FSD capabilities as a new model, illustrates the value of Tesla and buying used Teslas where the new owner can enable this functionality for $99 per month. No automobile manufacturer provides this type of over-the-air upgrade to existing vehicles.

That drive was awesome. For title, maybe it should be “FSD 12.3.6 dealing with NYC morning madness”. I just realized that Tesla can see surroundings better than human drivers, because of 8 cameras and AI, essentially in rear views. This drive is all about super awareness.

FSD can certainly NOT see better than a human driver. FSD cannot see potholes or broken glass in the road. FSD cannot see a gate that raises and lowers. FSD will drive right thru it, if the human does not *intervene* . FSD cannot see ROAD CLOSED or DO NOT ENTER signs .

Of course 8 cameras can see more than two eyes. You are mistaking seeing and recognizing what you are seeing. FSD can see better. Humans can reason better - so far. Humans often do not see stuff at all. So they cause millions of crashes each year. So even that great monkey mind cannot help it.

Awesome video. Makes me very hopeful to see this on my 2017 MS with HW3 as well. Keep them coming because in these conditions, thats where it really shows. Please add when you need to nudge the accelerator or take over so its clear where it trips up. Maybe time stamp it or have an on screen counter.

Is this your new obsession? That's absurd. "I did give it one acceleration tap just to move faster". It would have driven alone just fine-it would just have taken a few seconds more. In fact, that's what the vast majority of interventions are-just to speed things up a bit, which would be just fine without the intervention.
