"INCREBILE"
Nice🔥 Thank you for the video
wow, that was 10 seconds of information I already knew and 95% very lame jokes, I'm sorry :/
@@lennartrauhe7194 And yet you could have stopped watching at any point...👍 😂 Appreciate the comment...but we do reviews, not demos and we try to make this dull subject a little lighter... Hope you have a good day.😘
Jack Stratton uses the focusing eq a lot. Or he used to. Or still does.
👍😂
The sale on for T-Racks 5 Max v2 is on right now for 49 bucks. Its worth it for a suite of pretty great mixing and mastering plugins. I don't have to purchase anymore plugins for a while.
Thanks! Show us how you gonna use it :). Best/Mathias
Buying this today as part of Plug-in Alliance ‘Forever 29’ scheme for £23 after $ to £ conversion 🎉
I like your videos, but the color grading is difficult to get used to.
There's no real colour grading...my studio has film lighting installed and we shoot 4k log footage which is then graded to match Rec709 standards.👍
@@StudioLife101 Since there's no post-grading the reason is an easy fix; the white balance in the camera is off. +5 temperature and +30 tint gave the same result and removed the green hue.
@@jonl.b7168 Jesus....you a video professional? We like it looking like this...😂 👍
@@StudioLife101 Haha, just a bit more interested in it than most. If you want it like that then all good, it's a bit like the color grading in the Matrix! ;)
@@jonl.b7168 Dan's Neo's uncle....😂
I always liked Harrion's STEEPhi and lo-pass filters!
Yeah....thanks guys, I've been working with the demo and thinking it must be my ears at fault for not hearing anything special! Glad to find out I'm not alone in being unconvinced. You're now my first stop for plugin reviews.
Harrison is NOT second to SSL in any way! Michaels Jackson's "Thriller" is one of many hit records recorded on a Harrison console. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The 4000b doesn't come with it anymore. It's been swapped to Channelstrip 2. Sad since I think the 4000b looks more interesting. I only own Channel Strip 2 and Bus Compressor 2, but I have loads of channelstrips/bus compressors that I prefer before those.
The 4000e is always my go to...but with the new 360 link software I have mapped all my other channel strips to it too...👍
Men, thank you very much for the honest video. I have the same opinion about the compressor. Nice video 🔥 but I also think it's cool that there is such an alternative to fabfilter pro-c, which I use in very rare cases. in general it's cool that Cenozoix exists, but I don't think I need it😅
When The Levee Breaks compressor.
Seems the second string vintage companies like Harrison are getting their time. Trident too is having a lot of market share in the discussion. Lots of great sounds to be had from some great companies that aren’t just API, Neve, or SSL
guys to me personally these „it costs 1000 but for a limited time you can get it for 30!“ is like 1) making fun of the customers by treating them like brainless idiots 2) completely undermining the developers own integrity and reliability by varying pricing by ridiculous high variations almost implying software is not really worth a lot of money 3) Completely disrespectfully dumping the value of plugins that have been purchased at full price by some customers that paid the full price. really and utterly ,,,, not elegant. Its getting boring and insulting
I agree. Always remember to never buy a plugin alliance plugin for full price...that's not the real price...the discount price is. Would much prefer them to be a sensible price all the time. 👍
@@StudioLife101 exactly. Also others like pulsar audio or process audio who offer 40-60% discounts multiple times a year so I am like „would be stupid to buy it full price somehow when a month later it could drop by that much“. It’s like a fruit market somehow
Yeah, Plugin Alliance are bad enough with their $299.99 plugins for $29.99, but Harrison's MPC Channel Strip takes it to a whole extra level of piss-taking.
@@sburton84 yes...that 900 odd quid price tag is mental...😱
So...Dan has a little sugar in the tank for sean?hehe
😂😂 of course...
both great hardware maker and even better plugin scammer.
😂😂
Nope to this, but yes to your show.
You guys should just do a comedy act. Sod the plugins. 🤪
😂😂
Lolz, look at you two starting shit. “Harrison is the slightly shitty SSL…” Mr. Vincent - June 2024. By the way, have you done Vintage Warmer? If not, it’s on sale for a few days! Please and thanks. If any plugin deserves to be demystified, it’s that. Worth having in your arse-nal! 😂
I reviewed Vintage Warmer for The Mix magazine back in about 1999.....i still use it. Review coming soon. Good shout. 👍

@@StudioLife101 not the gear, your DAW! looks like the channels are split apart whereas they were squished together before :D
@@sysxtem Ahhh.....Logic does its own thing when I'm looking the other way....😂
SSL didn't buy Harrison from what I know they Make the plugins for them and manufacture their 32c consoles. Harrison is still independent though.
4:50 don't API consoles have proportional q?
550b is 👍
Ever since plug-in alliance got taken over by native instruments they’ve fallen off
Possibly....but there seems to be a bit more stuff happening there at the moment.👍
I thought about buying it but I have Harrison Mixbus 😂. As of late, I’ve been fundamentally testing taking my mix in pro tools and summing my bus channels in Luna and Harrison Mixbus . So far, I’d say it does add some mojo from both, which is why I thought about the plugin so I wouldn’t have to export, but in my case I’d just be wasting more money. Harrison stuff is good though but I believe it caters more to rock.
have you thought about actually demonstrating the plugins? i'm sure we'd like to hear some sound examples. thanks
ahhh….but we do reviews not demos. Think of a film review without clips of the film…same thing. Adding compressed audio demos with no point of reference is just misleading. Most plugin demos on KZread are a full track or loop (already processed) being shoved through said plugin. Download a trial is our mantra 👍
There are so many demos already available for every plugin they review. If it looks interesting to you, just demo it yourself or watch another video afterwards
@@ItsMetabtw yes.👍 😘
Thanks for the quick review. I don't kno if you saw Dan Worrell's take on the previous version if this plugin, but it was somewhat harsh. I am curious if this version is much better or justca face-lift
It's different...that was very linear.....this has some interesting non-linear benefits. 👍
@@StudioLife101 thanks. Will check out demo
@@StudioLife101 Even if this one is better, the way they reacted to Dan Worrell's criticism has really put me off buying any of their plugins, especially the way they claimed they had meticulously modelled every physical component, which was clearly just absolute bullsh*t. Was that version also made by SSL or is the SSL stuff more recent?
@@sburton84 That's a long story....short version is- this is different and better. But...for future reference...there is really no such thing as 'modelling'....it's a generic term...some companies try to make dsp copies of each component and do things that way...(Never works that easily...many months of testing and tweaking to get something usable.) Others do digital copies of curves and compression etc and then add saturation that gives a very similar harmonic sound to the original...all are a bit hit and miss and none are identical. Some however are very close and sometimes subjectively better. 👍
As tempting the GUI may look... I'm on the track leading away from such plugins because it doesn't give you anything you couldn't achieve with your normal workhorse plugins. It looks nice though
Thanks so much for your videos guys. I don't always agree but it's refreshing with an unbiased channel. So tired of all the paid channels giving their "honest" opinion.. 😊
Thanks...appreciate that.👍
I'm guessing that SSL got Harrison Software Co. going cheap after they were caught out nulling against Reaper's native plugins. I'm sure SSL won't have made that mistake ... 🙄
@@KozmykJ the nullable was just the Harrison EQ section - the compressor section was all right. But I agree, Harrison’s response to Dan Worrall’s review was a PR disaster. All that crap about modelling every analogue component. Put me right off Harrison plug-ins forever.
Sterling work guys... Suggestion: Your Top 10 Channel Strips?
Good plan....been a while. 👍
They do it again, another great episode! Thanks again! I love this channel strip and I've got it for 49 €. Very nice sound. 👍
does this thing have a standalone mode? like would it work with a dawless setup? if so, id get one today.
No...it's a plugin with a controller...good idea though...👍
Hey folks, thank you so much for this great episode! 👍 Wow, this could be a game changer for Mastering. Have a marvelous weekend!
Lmao. How is that expensive? It’s not.
Not related to the plugin, the KZread auto play started the video before I clicked into it. Starting the video at dans “SHHHIIITTT!!!!” Really loud in me and my fiancés home office. Prompting her to turn around and go “ok…wtf?” 😂😂
😂😂😂 Sorry about that...
Dan doing the “shit”! As always enjoy your channel chaps!
I just discovered it, and got very excited. Ableton Live has no input meter. I have been working with it for 20 years, and it has no input meter...Total eye-opener.
Cool, fellas. I'll check it out. PS: This channel NEEDS more subscribers!
Yes 👍
I love the neve and the SSL..so I'm warm and precise..lol
Best of both worlds 👌
I’ll probably continue to not use v2 😂 Have you fellas checked out soundtheory Kraftur yet? Great sounding multiband saturator and hard clipper with a pretty cool interface
Sounds interesting....we'll have a look.👍
I Know Junk Bonds!
I also got it for $19.99 Like to have many options to ruin my tracks.
😂😂
😂
the guy on the right is so irritating... you yawn, fart, stick your finger up your nose, act like a monkey and talk nonsense, if you think you're funny, you're wrong, you're making a clown out of yourself, no professionalism and that's what we expect here
Thanks for taking the time to provide some feedback. You sound like a right laugh 😂 Have a great weekend ✌🏻
I also liked BX XL v3 so much I bought it straight after trying it. It helped that it only cost me $19.99, which it said was the price of upgrading from v2. Except I don't actually own v2 (though I do have a Plugin Alliance subscription that includes it), so not sure if that was intended or not 😂
Not to take away from anything you said in the review but a shame that this is an exact copy of their old bx xl v2 and true peak limiter. So it’s a “cut and shut” job of two existing plugins with updated graphics for the bx xl part. Not a scam because they offer a cheap upgrade to existing xl v2 owners and it does sound good but this is just a repackaging of existing (and quite old) plugins.
nice one lads... what about some newfangled audio stuff?
We reviewed Invigorate a while back... We'll see if there's anything new from them. 👍
