Way more control…tape speed, red or blue fabric harmonics, tape drive mix, fabric mix….you can get nice tape sheen or nasty crunchy tape drive and anything in between 👍

I find that the Pro VLA ll is great for thickening compression. Very smooth and transparent. Pulls up the low level stuff really well and unlinking widens the mix a little. I like the 260 VU from Audioscape for drums but you can't over do it or use parallel. Check it out!

BART HRK 500 modules are so slept on and yet, there so great and you can get a pair of modules for the price you’d pay for one Neve portico or ssl modules. Love your set up. Been looking for gear I can add to my setup to route summing and stereo bus mixes out and back in my DAW.

@@StudioLife101 would fancy a demo of some of these modules. I cant physically believe they are any good for the price. Its like a mental block. Id love to consider the diode bridge but....yeah

There is a plugin that i believe is an emulation of the cross compressor, QX Comp by Psycho Circuitry, and it's free. I thought you would be interested to check out, maybe cross (pardon the pun) compare with the hardware and feature it on the show. Cheers

It sounds like the trick many do with fabfilter multiband where your I trigger transients using bass information

Have used them....didn't notice anything better over just routing buses to outboard and back in again.... Depends on the situation I guess. If it's the only chance to add some analogue mojo....then maybe it's worth it. Gotta let your ears decide 👍

That’s just not true…their customer service has been excellent in my experience. And as for garbage….nope they’re not at all. But hey….if you have a different experience we’d be happy to hear it.
