Charge.

    Germany is a country, where it is especially easy for (half-) criminals to cheat and defraud and get you in worse criminal activities, mafia and corruption is wide spread behind the fassade of the "correct" Germany. You need to read constantly a lot about criminal traps if you want to be safe. The same with private contacts, there are so many people with a fassade that is a complete lie who just want to rip you off. Even banks and insurances lie to you right into your face and in the written contract is then something different...

    We are so similar, I didn't realize. I recently moved from a short term furnished apartment in Munich to a rental house that is four floors as well and we had a week to furnish it. We got a 100 euro 25 year old leather sectional from kleinenzeigen that I refurbished. I love it so much! I also bought that exact same cup for 1 euro at a thrift store. 😂

    What´s your current standard? Americans often call the USA "safe". From an European perspective a 25(+) times higher killing rate is called rather unsafe. As already mentioned: look up numbers from independent sources. As a comparison: in the whole EU the chance to be killed is about the same as being killed just by an US POLICE OFFICER. Germany is one of the safest contries in the EU.

    16:26 min My tip: When you are member in the labour union Ver.di (that costs 1% of your monthly income), you have a legal insurance for work matters/dispute with your company and for social law (if you want to sue your social welfare office because of benefits for example) inclusive. Ver.Di also makes your income tax declaration for free, which is very comfortable.

    wow, there are also very bad stories about education or kindergardens in Germany, very rapidly it's getting very bad (most of the teachers want to quit the job and stop to work in the public schools or kindergartens) and the same with employer that have no understanding for mothers with ill children. And you didn't mention the petrol prices, that are a big block of monthly costs, and that Germany is one country in the world with the highes taxes, if you put all taxes together, for example Grundsteuer or Gebühren if you are self-employed (outside of art or content creators)...

    You’re definitely right! I have issues with our daycare quite often … closing down for reasons that aren’t actually legally valid, etc. but I have Canada prices to compare to. They are as flaky as they are here, but we also pay a lot less. Although I find many employers very flexible for parents with ill children, just depends I’m sure! And gas prices are high but we manage our usage well 🙂 and take public transport whenever possible!

After letting all of the info sink in, I'm still left with two questions, though: 1) You said you have a three car garage. Why are you paying the additional fee for a parking place in front of your house? 2) Whatever happened to my two buddies that you introduced a while back - the robot vacuum cleaners? We haven't seen or heard from them in a while...😁💛

She's an absolute natural in front of the camera and has such a sweet character. How about keeping her part of your channel, Jenna? Maybe as a contributor every few months on topics that would allow for an outside perspective? It'll be a real shame not to see her anymore - especially if she continues to do little dances like that one in front of the bottle return machine. I was almost expecting John Travolta to jump into the scene and they'd do a rerun of "Grease"...😂🫶 Okay, I might 've fallen for a little bit of embelishment here, but nonetheless, your mom's a hoot and should definitely do some cameos on your channel!

    The urge of thinking that we're always right is probably a marker on some obscure gene in our DNA. We just can't halp it. It's just like with you Canadians - you are a friendly and polite people, but the second someone puts a hockey stick in your hands you become total maniacs...😁💛 Have you ever heard of the saying that to Germans their car is their favourite child? Most of us just love our cars. Spending time with your wife on a picnic on a Saturday or give your car a thorough cleanup? Hmmmm - very difficult choice to make...🤡💛 And sauce? Oh come on, is there anything better than having potatoes and sauce, squeeze and mash them together and have that pile of greasy happiness? It's pure soul food...

    We share very similar stories and sentiments. I’ve been in Germany for seven years (I’m from California), and I’ve had my two young kids here. This is home for them and for me. This feels truer as every year passes. I have a large and loving family that I miss as well, but they are living all over the world, so we fly often. We purposely save for these trips, willing to meet our friends and family wherever and whenever possible (this amounts to 3-4 flights a year. And this will likely drop as my kids start school). The point is, we decided that, come hell or high water, no matter how hard flying with toddlers can be, we’re going to make it happen. We’ve a ton of stories from it all, and no regrets. Expect that it’ll all go wrong on the flight, bring the iPad, hope for the best, and don’t forget to pack spare clothes for yourself in your carryon. Thanks so much for sharing your experience! Good luck!

    As far as I know, Germans should apply for a 'Beibehaltungsgenehmigung' to keep their German citizenship. Otherwise, Germans lose their German citizenship 'silently' or 'automatically' when they apply for any citizenship outside the EU.

  • @Cz-De-Lifestyle
    @Cz-De-Lifestyle6 күн бұрын

    This probably happened to my wife. They told her back then, about year 2022 that if she took the Canadian citizenship she would automatically lose the German citizenship. She didnt care cuz she also has Czech citizenship, so still have access to EU anyways. But in the future she may wants back her German citizenship one day, how much would it cost to do the 'Beibehaltungsgenehmigung'? She is born from a purebred German father if that helps.

  • @vasylkuzmenko5180
    @vasylkuzmenko51806 күн бұрын

    @@Cz-De-Lifestyle Just keep Czech citizenship. In the EU, it doesn't really matter which citizenship you have in terms of access to the job market or studying (tourism or visiting shouldn't be a problem either). However, there is a procedure to recover German citizenship, which is different from the 'Beibehaltungsgenehmigung': the keywords are 'Wiedereinbürgerung ehemaliger Deutscher.' A big problem with German citizenship is that taxes are much higher than in any other EU country. For example, if you inherit something in Germany from parents or anyone else and you have German citizenship, you have to pay taxes in Germany, regardless of whether you live in Canada or anywhere else. If you do not have German citizenship - you do not have to pay these taxes.

    We swedes oftentimes clap at planes landing too, but also stare at people in general, when someone does something wrong and sometimes at foreigners regardless of ethnicity, we're also quite shy and following societal and unspoken rules quite strictly...
