The blue OwlCrate book is beautiful! I have found that matching colors with powdered eye makeup works really well to hide imperfections on sprayed edges (just a dab... don't use too much)💙

I preferred the original cover but was so surprised when I looked at the reversed jacket and endpapers because the FMC being blue reminded me of Strange the Dreamer and made me even more excited to read the story. Very bummed by the bonus content.

Hi Michelle!! Oh boy!! Did the Taylor Swift concert footage bring back memories of concerts past for me!!! It's been years since I've attempted to go to a live concert but back in the day my friends and I got to see some great bands and performers. Highlights: Paul McCartney, Elton John and Billy Joel, Loreena Mckennitt (multiple times), the Osmonds (my teenage years ... also multiple concerts) and ABBA!! I know some of Taylor's music (the hits) and I think that she's an amazing talent and an admirable young woman. I can fully relate to the emotional release that you got from the concert and have experienced that a few times as well. I'd have loved to have been able to travel further into Europe as well and Germany would have been a highlight. I remember during one of my trips to England I had to buy another travel bag because I'd bought so many books!!! This was before the airlines dinged you for every ounce that you carried onboard their planes. And I'd buy all those colourful booklets at every grand manor, castle, cathedral, town, tower, garden, city, etc that I went to ... and many others that I didn't but wanted to. Sigh!! Memories. I love the books that you bought and can't wait to hear what you think of The Women. I am tempted to try some of Lucy Stroud's books since they all sound so interesting. I've read Becky Chambers books and love them so much. Cozy Sci-fi. Wonderful characters. This was grand fun Michelle!!! Enjoy the rest of your holidays!!! Cheers!!!

(I used to work at a Manor House so knew the guide book off by heart 😂). Would you like to travel more in the future? I didn’t know that Becky Chambers is cosy sci-fi! I actually got two more of her books at 66books on Sunday… so I hope I’ll like her writing 🥰 I also got another Kristin Hannah book (The Four Winds), so I have lots to keep me going! It's hilarious ... and a bit frightening. I would in theory love to travel more but it's so expensiive and I haven't flown since 9/11 so there's all the stuff that's changed since then. There are all sorts of places I'd love to go to but I confess, if I was spending money to travel I would go where I left my heart ... England! I can't explain but when I made my first trip at 18 it felt so ... right!! It's been 34 years since my last trip there but I'd return in a heartbeat. So much I'd love to see .. and return to see again. Sigh. Maybe someday ...

Although I love light purple, the original cover is better. The endpapers are not too bad, but it would be cool if they just did illustrative hardcovers and had no dust jacket. Also, the story sounds intriguing, so that's a plus. And, I look forward to reading it at some point. Lovely video. 😊

Hi again Michelle. Oh boy! I just got a copy of the standard edition of this book the other day and I have to agree that I much prefer the cover art on it to the Owlcrate design. I mean, this is pretty but it doesn't catch my eye like the original cover does. I do love those stencilled edges a lot but the standard edition has pretty mauve sprayed edges that compliment the cover design and make it POP even more. The naked hardcover of the Owlcrate edition is beautiful and I wouldn't have minded that on the standard edition but the end papers and the reverse dust jacket don't appeal to me either. The fact that it's signed by the author would be one of the main reasons I'd want this edition at all. She has a lovely signature doesn't she? I read Sarah Beth Dursts trilogy The Queens of Renthia a few years ago and quite enjoyed it so I imagine that this book won't be any different and I do love the premise of it. I think that the sea horses are Hippocampus's?? Hippocampi?? Whatever. Winged cats? Sentient house plants?? Cool!!! I just got Joanne Harris's latest book The Moonlight Market which looks really good and Katie Lumsden's The Trouble With Mrs Montgomery Hurst amongst others (me being me) and I'm looking forward to reading those soonish. Someone else corrected me on the names of the animals too; they said they are called a hippocampus (which my mind doesn’t like as it’s a medical term for a part of the brain 🫣 … oh language!). I prefer the original cover too, I think it was stunning 😢 For such beautiful original covers, I wish Owlcrate would do something like they did with A Study in Drowning where they printed it on the hardback. I ended up selling my Owlcrate copy as soon as I received it because I liked the original artwork more, but I still plan on reading this book. If I like it, I’ll probably get the paperback when it comes out (I don’t like plain naked hardbacks lol)

I was so worried for about 10 seconds when I thought you were going to unwrap the book with the ink on your hands 😂 I loved the book, so I’m happy to own a signed, exclusive edition. But…as with you and just about all of your commenters, I’m underwhelmed with all of the customizations. Except for the endpapers - they were nice. It’s disappointing that even though OC did all of the customizations we’ve been asking for, it just didn’t come out great.

I've got the first print US edition with purple edges and I really love the simplicity of those edges with the normal cover. To be honest I am also underwhelmed by the OC edition. I do however really like the look and vibe of the endpapers in your OC edition. I'm looking forward to reading the book. I adored her Queens of Renthia series!

Hi Michelle. Yep! This is a pretty one. A little more of a delicate design than the original perhaps? And if the design doesn't have reds then purples will do almost as well for me so this cover colour way is very nice. I love the art on the end paper!! I don't care for cartoony character art so these end paper images are perfection!!! I get what you're saying about the hardback's cover but ... Michelle ... it's RED!!! I mean ... really!! I'm looking forward to hearing all about your trip to Germany and the Taylor Swift concert and seeing your haul. Meanwhile, enjoy the rest of your holiday!! Cheers!!!

Although I love light purple, the original cover is better. The endpapers are not too bad, but it would be cool if they just did illustrative hardcovers and had no dust jacket. Also, the story sounds intriguing, so that's a plus. And, I look forward to reading it at some point. Lovely video. 😊

Hi again Michelle. Oh boy! I just got a copy of the standard edition of this book the other day and I have to agree that I much prefer the cover art on it to the Owlcrate design. I mean, this is pretty but it doesn't catch my eye like the original cover does. I do love those stencilled edges a lot but the standard edition has pretty mauve sprayed edges that compliment the cover design and make it POP even more. The naked hardcover of the Owlcrate edition is beautiful and I wouldn't have minded that on the standard edition but the end papers and the reverse dust jacket don't appeal to me either. The fact that it's signed by the author would be one of the main reasons I'd want this edition at all. She has a lovely signature doesn't she? I read Sarah Beth Dursts trilogy The Queens of Renthia a few years ago and quite enjoyed it so I imagine that this book won't be any different and I do love the premise of it. I think that the sea horses are Hippocampus's?? Hippocampi?? Whatever. Winged cats? Sentient house plants?? Cool!!! I just got Joanne Harris's latest book The Moonlight Market which looks really good and Katie Lumsden's The Trouble With Mrs Montgomery Hurst amongst others (me being me) and I'm looking forward to reading those soonish. Someone else corrected me on the names of the animals too; they said they are called a hippocampus (which my mind doesn’t like as it’s a medical term for a part of the brain 🫣 … oh language!). I prefer the original cover too, I think it was stunning 😢 For such beautiful original covers, I wish Owlcrate would do something like they did with A Study in Drowning where they printed it on the hardback. I ended up selling my Owlcrate copy as soon as I received it because I liked the original artwork more, but I still plan on reading this book. If I like it, I’ll probably get the paperback when it comes out (I don’t like plain naked hardbacks lol)

I was so worried for about 10 seconds when I thought you were going to unwrap the book with the ink on your hands 😂 I loved the book, so I’m happy to own a signed, exclusive edition. But…as with you and just about all of your commenters, I’m underwhelmed with all of the customizations. Except for the endpapers - they were nice. It’s disappointing that even though OC did all of the customizations we’ve been asking for, it just didn’t come out great.
Haha I did think about it! 🫣 It’s difficult to improve when the standard cover is SO good. The special edition is cute, but it’s just not the same vibe 😬

I've got the first print US edition with purple edges and I really love the simplicity of those edges with the normal cover. To be honest I am also underwhelmed by the OC edition. I do however really like the look and vibe of the endpapers in your OC edition. I'm looking forward to reading the book. I adored her Queens of Renthia series!

I agree with you, I love Owlcrate editions (that’s the reason I keep it even it’s expensive, plus can skip anytime). But I was expecting more from this one. I totally love original cover and it’s amazing, shame they didn’t keep it. ❤

I had preordered the book from a local bookstore and didnt want to cancel after I learned Owlcrate was doing this - I was planning to give the original to my sister, but I’m debating switching the dust jackets first

Hi Michelle. Yep! This is a pretty one. A little more of a delicate design than the original perhaps? And if the design doesn't have reds then purples will do almost as well for me so this cover colour way is very nice. I love the art on the end paper!! I don't care for cartoony character art so these end paper images are perfection!!! I get what you're saying about the hardback's cover but ... Michelle ... it's RED!!! I mean ... really!! I'm looking forward to hearing all about your trip to Germany and the Taylor Swift concert and seeing your haul. Meanwhile, enjoy the rest of your holiday!! Cheers!!!
