For over 10 years Church of the Word has preached, taught, witnessed to, served and loved others in the Saint Louis area.
Our name “Church of the Word” rightly emphasizes the importance we place on the inspired, perfect Word of God. We believe, teach and live that God’s word is “profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16).
As sinners saved by grace alone, we seek to obey our Lord Jesus to make disciples of the nations and teach everything Jesus taught in God’s word.

I have a question god says that he is a jealous god in the commandments whenever god says to worship no other idol than him for he is a jealous god but if he is also to be perfect than how could he also be jealous
Jealous is a good attribute. A husband is right to be jealous of the love of his wife. For a husband to be okay with his wife loving another man would not be a good quality. Envy is altogether different. Envy is to wrongly want something that’s not yours. It’s wrong for a man to envy another man’s wife. Envy and jealously are often confused in our vernacular but they are quite different. God would not be a good God if he didn’t care whether his children worshiped him or someone or something else. For this reason he is jealous.
I say every time when people complain about suffering and such, “we have choice, free will. A helicopter parent does not help their child grow, they cripple them for life. God gave us both dominion and free will, with that comes the responsibility of living with the ramifications and repercussions of our choices, be they well-informed or woefully ignorant it does not really matter. Choices were made, we’ve poisoned both our world and ourselves for centuries. We live now with the consequences, the suffering we introduced into the world has merely grown alongside humanity, as we advance so does it. We perpetuate suffering through our choices and wonder why God doesn’t swoop down and make it all better, or why He would ever allow these horrible things in the first place. God can do anything, that includes bearing the weight of sitting by and letting His children make their choices, make their mistakes, skin their knees and bloody their noses; and having those same children curse Him for it all happening and question Him incessantly. In direct spite of the fact that these children get absolutely up in arms if you try to tell them what to do or guide them. They’re willing to kill for their freedom and right to choose how they live….and yet they cry out why and curse and question and doubt and demean and insult and blaspheme….what do we children want from our Father? Do we want to be free to find our way or do we want it done for us?” I’m grateful for my freedom of choice and the power I have to live as I choose. I would not want that trad upon in the name of appeasing me, I don’t want to be appeased and I never asked for life to be easy when I decided to live it. I just want to live as best I can and I believe I can do that through following the Father and doing all I can to reflect His glory.

I hate hate HATE this way of pastor’s talking to people. This is why people leave church. I know so many Christian’s who have run their lives into the ground for the Lord, who have changed everything about themselves to “Prove” to God that they are worthy of his love, and they still get this shit thrown at them. Gods love is not something you have to “Prove” worthiness for, and his salvation is not something you have to “Prove” worthiness for either. If you accept him into your heart, you are already bathed in his blood. He forgives. Saying anything else promotes this idea that God is a toxic father.

The problem with American Christianity - Yes. It is a distinct brand of the religion - is that it is an all or nothing proposition: One needs to submit oneself to God as a King over your life. The problem with this idea is that it's not true. What you are submitting yourself to is another person's variation on basic Christian concepts. What you are accepting is the argument that YOU, on your own, without any help from them, cannot have a relationship with God. That has to be a lie. Not only does the idea severely limit God's power to have a relationship outside of their interpretation of the Bible, but it is an opinion based on no actual knowledge of who God is or what He is capable of doing. This is why they worship the Book over the God: Because the Book allows them to invent ideologies that suit the overlords more than the masses, and these people want to be overlords. So, what if you don't have to grovel and bow and sing hymns? What if it's enough to be the kind of person who 'turns the other cheek' and 'loves their neighbour'? What if it isn't required that you have a social or a political opinion? What if it's enough to be good and kind and decent, if only because your 'Saviour' asked you to be? Isn't that easier and more sensible than the wildly panicked faith of the overly complicated and puritanical Americans? 👀

Abraham did, he met with the Lord as the Lord came and sat and ate with him a couple times. It even says the Lord was present as 3 people and they spoke simutansley at the same time. He called him LORD. But if you have not read your Bible you wouldn't know that.
The Trinity is in verse one of the Torah - the concept of Elohim then runs all the way through scripture. To help people understand the 3 in 1 the word Triune God was used to explain it. Pretty simple if you want to see it that is.

Just read the Torah - the mission and vision of God is laid out so many times you can't miss it. Now the Quran affirms the Torah and the Injeel as being from Allah given before and for those peoples to judge by. Therefore being the word of Allah it is preserved by Allah according to Quranic principles and remains unchanged. So you are free to explore what those books say anytime .
