    I just made the crockpot ribs with Coca-Cola in the slow cooker, it’s always my favorite thank you for that recipe. But what would it taste like if I replace the Coca-Cola with apple juice concentrate? Do you think it would make much of a difference? And do you think it would taste better or worse? Thanks.

  • @BurningcerealShow
    @BurningcerealShow4 ай бұрын

    Apple juice is a great additive, I use apple juice when I make ribs on my smoker. But... the main reason for the soda isn't for flavoring. There is an acid (phosphoric acid) in the soda that tenderizes the meat. Do I think it will be better, that's a matter of individual taste. I do love apple as an additive to my other ribs. If its the sugar content you are concerned about, you can get the same results with a "zero" added sugar soda also, again, its just the acid we are looking for. Let me know what route you go and let me know how you like it.

  • @BurningcerealShow

    Delicious. Thanks ! Why do Chile Slow Cooker Recipes Always show Pre Cooking the Meat in skillets or ovens ? Seems Redundant.

  • @BurningcerealShow
    @BurningcerealShow6 ай бұрын

    The actual cooking was done in the slow cooker, placing them in the oven afterwards is to set and caramelize the BBQ sauce. It technically isn't a requirement but is is 100% better that way.

  • @unionse7en
    @unionse7en7 ай бұрын

    Do these actually have closed loop feedback based on the actual temperature at (or near) the bottom surface of the pan? Or is it just an arbitrary "temperature" setting where it just adjusts the on off time based on the preset and not actually adjusting the average power in response to the temperature. IF it DID sense the pan temp you would think displaying that actual* temp would be an option.

  • @BurningcerealShow
    @BurningcerealShow6 ай бұрын

    I think for $79 (at the time of filming) it isn't that advanced. If it was able to tell the temp of the pan the cost would be much higher.

    what does this have to do with wiernerschnitzel ? all you did was take slop out of a can , which tastes nothing like theirs !

  • @BurningcerealShow
    @BurningcerealShow6 ай бұрын

    Well... you didn't actually taste these so you can't say they don't taste like Weinerschnitzel, but you are technically correct. I believe what Mike was trying to do was show you how they make theirs. Which he accomplished. And, not sure if you know, you can go to Weinerschnitzel now and buy their "slop" as you call it, in a can directly from them! So now you CAN make them at home. But follow this technique of course.

    Coke sounds cool But you f***** it all up when you pulled it. You had and added way, way, way, way.... way too much Coke. In my opinion and then you lathered it with Barbecue Sauce. After words. TO GET THE JUICINESS AND SHINY EFFECT IN WHICH THE CROCK-POT SHOULD HAVE DONE ON ITS OWN WITHOUT THE COCA-COLA. I would have thought you would have wrapped it and butcher paper and Baked it for another what 2 hours at least!!!! You know to save it... To save at least Damn.. at least, I'll say it again Again at least... To get your (" Shacking My Head") Barbecue Sauce Sticky and To Stick Stuck to the RIB EFFECT. On them POOOOOR ABUSED RIBS... I don't know man sorry thumbs down for me but keep it coming. Nothing beats "GRILL NATION" TRY CHECKING OUT ("GRILL NATION") AND PICKING UP SOME MAJOR MASS OF MADDDD F****** POWERING SKILLS. NICE TRY THOUGH PLEASE DON'T TAKE IT PERSONAL OR MY CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM CUZ THAT'S PEOPLE ONLY GET A PEPS WAY PERSON BETTER AT IT COOKING GRILLING ETC.... IF THEY LEARN HOW TO TAKE IT FROM EVERYWHERE AND ANYONE. GOOD LUCK NEXT TIME. I DON'T KNOW GET RID OF THE COCA-COLA THE JUICES WILL TAKE OVER IT... IN ITSELF PLUS THE BARBECUE SAUCE NOT TO MENTION THE SLOW COOKER MAKES IT A "A+" SO YOU REALLY WASTED YOUR TIME WITH THE COKE. I MEAN THE BROWN SUGAR ALONE WOULD HAVE GAVE IT THE SWEETNESS IT NEEDED AND THAT YOU WERE SEARCHING FOR... BROTHER

  • @BurningcerealShow
    @BurningcerealShow8 ай бұрын

    I appreciate your comment and your opinion. But I think you may have missed the point, this recipe was if you don't have a smoker, or another means to make ribs traditionally, just a slow cooker (or a pressure cooker since its relatively the same procedure). Just placing the ribs in a slow cooker will not tenderize as much as the ribs need, so therefore you add something that will do it. The soda has something called phosphoric acid, that is what tenderizes the meat (crazy thing called chemistry), the other ingredients are just there to add a bit of flavor, most of it will cook off. Lathering the bbq sauce after and the broiler procedure will get the bbq sauce "sticky". Grill Nation (I am subscribed to them, and many other channels like theirs), is a great place to go and gain some grilling skills, if you are grilling the item, not using a slow cooker. Again, I appreciate the time you took to comment and appreciate all the information. Have you tried the recipe? If not you may be surprised at the outcome. You can even use a sugar-free soda so you don't have to worry about too much sugar. Thanks again :)
