I have the 2013 320d msport. Car has been a pleasure to own. Only issue was egr cooler which was replaced under motor warranty
Yea the EGR valve went on mine and had it changed under warranty including the cooler!
Hello , did anyone experienced any issues with the Android Auto ?? I own a g20 320i 2019 and when I bought the car the dealer told me is got android auto just need to be set up , he was actually wrong as the software was from 2019 with Apple Carplay so went back and asked for this to be sorted . Not a chance with these guys wasted long time to get it sorted .Yesterday had my mot so I asked them to get the software upgraded to the 2024 version and they did it for 80£ also it come up with Android Auto that was easy to get it connected but bad news come up next day when tried to connect it but didn't worked anymore such a disappointment. Did anyone else experienced this ?
Sorry no, i have 2019 330e and my software version is 7/2023.58, dealer told me there is an update available will cost £120. Where did you do for £80?

Can someone with m4 knowledge please clear something up? Is there 3 different g82 models? -m4 -m4 (competition pack) -m4 competition Its just i when looking for one to buy, some have the competition badge and some dont? Whats up with that?
Depends where you are, in the UK the G82 is only offered as Competition. Competition and competition pack are essentially the same. Just how they are described. You have the option of RWD and AWD (I think unless in the UK now they may only be AWD) other parts of the world the G82 was offered as M4 (less power) and M4 Competition or Competition Pack (same thing) with about 20-30hp over the M4

The F82 didn’t have the competition badge, those that do have been retrofitted by owners…..my blue one is a competition. Look at my vid which compares non comp with comp

The condensation in the headlight must be a thing with some of these cars. I was talking to a woman who had just traded hers in at BMW and she'd had one replaced on warranty for the same issue.
Stunning spec, such a beautiful colour, it really suits the touring shape. Great review as always. It will certainly drive better than an SUV/SAV and provide a good balance of performance, economy and extra space.
Thanks for your comment. The colour is definitely a great talking point on this M340d…. It pops so differently in all light scenarios. Performance is great and all round practicality is decent.

Slightly disagree with your view on 40i and 40d. Both are great engines, but to me, it really comes down to mileage. I had BM 6cyl diesels for 22 years, but then mileage dropped and DPFs clogged. I found I did quite a few short journeys amongst longer one's too, and the engine didn't really get up to proper working temp. And always had issues with EGR valves!! So I got a 40i and don't worry too much about the mpg - if I did, I'd get the very good 320d! If I still did big mileage, then 40d would make more sense. As for running costs, was in France a few months back and looking back through the data, one leg of the long trip was 157 miles at an av of 78.9mph returning 40.2mpg. Another leg was 155m at 76.8mph again returning 40.2 mpg. The 3rd & 4th leg were 98m & 133m @ 69 & 72mph both giving 38.1 mpg. So while the 40d is going to do much better, the 40i can be quite decent for what it is. And then the politics of it. Councils are going to start hammering diesel cars, which I also think will further hit residuals. But who knows, I'm probably totally wrong.

the 3 series touring has become my dream car, and the M340d just looks like an absolute blast, the perfect compromise between performance and fuel economy when cruising.

Drove a pre LCI M340d and I didn't think it was any quicker than the F30 335d - but then again the F30 is a lot lighter
Spec is stunning - thanks for covering this. The best G21 Touring I’ve seen and 100% king of its own segment when compared with Audi and MB competition.

Literally no idea how rare it is to have the adaptive cruise control. Why on earth it isn't a standard feature on BM's I'll never know 😢

Great review Mo of an absolutely cracking motor. In that colour too 💚💚💚. It’s such a shame that BMW have made the decision to drop the M340d from the LCi2 line-up, they really are losing a peach.
Agree Chris, this car makes a lot of sense to many people but I guess it will make for strong residuals for used examples. Even that said, you won’t be able to order a staple 320d anymore
Tried to order one of the M340d saloons in May but I was told there were no slots available. And as you said, it’s only the M340i available now with the latest LCI. On the plus side, I’ve ordered a G87 M2 instead 😂
Well I guess you have a real performance car there with the G87. It’s a shame no more M340d on configuration

Should be safe, I did without disconnecting battery. I hold no responsibility if your airbag goes off though lol

Yep very fair comment…..the example I spoke about was a late 2020 registered car but condition of it looked like it was 5+ years old
the golf 8 is a fucking cancer i would have never bought my golf 8r if i knew how shitty this electronic's car was. never had any problem on my 7.5r in 4 years and a half. had like 3 problems already with the 8 r in 10 months
Most of the electronic issues are resolved with the steering wheel replacement. Never had any electric issues after this update
@@DownShiftThrottle Is it a certainty that replacing the steering wheel solves the problem? I have an Arteon with the same problem. When reading forums neither software update nor steering wheel replacement seems to help. Some report having replaced the steering wheel already 3 times ...
@rdsrdsrdsrdsrdsrdsrd hi, yes I’ve read that too but can only go by my experience, I’ve not had any issues after this replacement. Obviously if the sensor is blocked then it will throw up an error which is normal and will clear shortly after
@@rdsrdsrdsrdsrdsrdsrd i had 2 random errors appearing and disappearing randomly several time during a trip: emergency assist and travel assist , just like Downshifttrottle i changed the steering wheel & never had those 2 errors again . i thought it would fix my last error : sos limited emergency call but it didn't (need a calculator & modul replacement)
Do normal versions have this problem too ? Isnt it an update thing ?
Most early 2021 cars will have this problem…..replacement steering wheel usually fixes the issue

Buying M cars has always been risk-laden.
I think the risk is greater now for these cars as the oldest and cheapest car is about 10 years old and at around £20k-£25k and the youngest car is around 4 years old at over £32k and up to £40k for a high spec low mileage example. In between these ages and prices there are so many good and mainly bad examples ones that are on the market being sold
also when u finance a car in private garage if he don't want to finance that mean this car has well maintenainced that how i got my gti 7 cs just another trick to do when u want to buy
Bought an m3 last week Monday. Was stolen Monday night. Buying an rs6 instead. BMW’s are to attractive to thieves.

@@DownShiftThrottle Haha 100% Any high end brand BMW/AUDI/MERCEDES is always at risk of theft. I don't understand how people can part with these expensive cars and skimp out on extra security for as little as £450.00. Changing car isn't going to stop it happening specially a Audi lol!
Exactly, no car is safe with standard fit security.
Was booked in for a ghost 11am next day. Disklok also turned up following morning. But it doesn’t stop there steering wheel theft and infotainment theft will still happen no matter what security you have. Just isn’t worth it
Was booked in with Ben to fit a ghost for 11am the next day. I know you know him as your in the same fb group I’m in. Plus a disklok turned up the following morning. Just unlucky I suppose. But it doesn’t stop there. The fact the steering wheel can be ripped off and infotainment screen removed in seconds (happened to my neighbour) is just shit. The Audi will have a ghost fitted and tracker before I pick it up this time. Surprised you haven’t mentioned these issues in your video tbh. Quite prevalent with m3/4’s and 5 series BMW’s just not worth it unless you have a garage. Only way they’ll take the Audi is by breaking in my house. Good luck with that lol

Yours is a stunning colour - but I can’t help but think the ones with the adaptive LED (Icons) make the M4 look so much better. I’d recommend anyone who’s thinking about getting an M4 to make sure it has the merino leather dash and Icon headlights
Very true, the full leather extended dash and icons were very expensive options at the time….those that have them look really great!
It's great to have the icon headlights but that also means you have to get a 2018+ with the facelift and those are gonna cost in the mid to high 40k with good mileage. You can buy aftermarket icon headlights for around $1500-2k too.
@@nohookshot9977 must be a regional thing with the price. You can get a 2017-2018 facelift with icons and good mileage (c. 30k miles) for around £30k. In fact, there’s one available for £28.5k as well speak!
Why risky? This car sounds very bad, it is pretty dangerous in the wet, but it is considered very reliable.
I own a competition, doesn’t sound bad. Maybe you need your ears testing. As for the wet, you’re obviously just a bad driver

pour-sha-dough-pull-coop-loongz-geh-treeb-a. doppel = double, kupplung = clutch, getriebe = transmission. While I understand Porsche wanting the PDK in every car that would otherwise take a traditional automatic, the ZF 8HP transmission is so insanely good (had it in my Disco 3 and my L494 Range Rover Sport) and indestructible (200,000 mi in my Disco) that I'd really rather have its simplicity over the PDK (also made by ZF). The PDK in the Macan/Cayenne is a solution to a problem no-one is trying to solve.
This is a well done and fair comparison. I've never owned a Porsche, but I got to spend an afternoon in a 911 C4S with PDK. I drove it in sport plus mode and I tried a few launches. It's a very nice transmission and it was completely intuitive and fun to drive. It really suited the car. I own a 2020 M2C DCT. Previously, I have owned other BMWs including a 2020 M3 6MT. I love the DCT in the M2C. I normally drive the car in M2 mode, which I have set up as full sport plus, manual and MDM. I like the rapid and aggressive shifting. The only thing I don't like about the transmission is what this video described about the lack of Park and the counterintuitive behaviour when you park the car. I honestly don't know what BMW was thinking when they designed it. It should not be necessary to have to explain to someone how to put any car into park. Having to shut the engine off in R or D makes no sense. If anything, it should be considered normal to shut the car off in N and there should be a button or a shift lever position to put the car into park. That way, if you wanted to roll the car with the engine off, all you would have to do is put it N, release the parking brake and it would roll. As it is, you have to lift the car onto a hoist to put it into N. Seriously, BMW, WTF were you thinking?
Yep exactly. The PDK is a great box but I do find that in comfort mode the PDK shifts too soon and is not effortless to kickdown. In sports/sport plus mode the PDK is much more livelier but the DCT is more balanced in all modes. I recently done a vid comparing the DSG with the DCT….let me know what you think of that vid
@@DownShiftThrottle I also find that DCT shifts too early in D mode, especially in D1, which is the reason why the only time I use D is when I'm holding a cup of coffee while I'm driving. The only car I've driven with DSG was a GTI and it didn't make any lasting impression.
Hey there nice video! by the way I just want to ask since you have that power already, arent you suppose to change or upgrade the OEM air to water intercooler? And if you do not change it, what are your reasons. Thank in advance!
Hi. No need to change the intercooler for stage 1. If going for 600hp+ stage 2 then yes the hardware will also need to be changed to support it
@@DownShiftThrottle wow thanks for tje prompt reply ok just to be sure so sorry for asking a question again but fyi I have a 2020 m2 competition with catless downpipe, with crank hub fix, with upgraded charge pipes, with mid pipe all the way to the end without a muffler or exhaust from eisennman race. And ECU tuned. So I want to ask this set up is already stage 2 right?
Unbelievable from VW! This is a major design issue... I am just over the 2 year warranty and have unfortunately discovered the truth too late... The issue is so annoying, that you are absolutely forced to fix it somehow... But I am not spending 2 grand on a new steering wheel for another design fault by VW! Just no! I am either cutting out the speaker or sueing the company... God damn it...
Problem still on for’all version of mk8 ? I don’t see others complaining
