    The opening line is right on the money: You don't really instill anything in a child, you encourage the development of it. That's pretty much everything you need to know about teaching and mentoring. Brilliant!

    Unpopular opinion: Tiger's dad was an abusive tyrant and did great psychological damage to his son. Yes, Tiger turned out to be one of the greatest (arguably the greatest) golfers of all time - in the company of Snead, Hogan, and Nicklaus. But did the end justify the means? Fans think so. But fans are f*ing selfish. Now let the arrows and tomatoes fly! :)

    Love this commercial. So i just realized Tigers Dad was retired during his childhood. If so, having a mom and Dad at home would have to be the ultimate in parenting. Hell kids today don't have 1 parent at home. they have random parents at Day Care centers.

    "Tiger, I promise you that you'll never meet another person as mentally tough as you in your entire life. And he hasn't, and he never will." Entire life? Nah, up to age 33. Earl did not think about about Y.E. Yang who came from two back of Woods at Hazeltine in '09 and finished three ahead of him to win the Wanamaker trophy.

    @johnharrison1487 Yeah, his win proved nothing except that Woods could win one more major after his injuries, he is not ever going to catch Jack and he is probably not ever going to win another major with how screwed up his body is nowadays. He is mentally strong, but others have proven to be just as mentally tough or even tougher than him over time. Earl’s words still sound arrogant after all these years. To say that he would meet NO ONE as mentally tough as him for the rest of his life is foolish because that is a blanket statement that overhypes his son and disrespects other people in all walks of life. I understand it is just an advert but it’s pretty cringe still just to hear him say that. Even now years after his death.

    "Tiger, I promise you that you'll never meet another person as mentally tough as you in your entire life. And he hasn't, and he never will." You're right Earl, your son didn't meet another person, he met another entire Golf tour of professionals who have proven to be much tougher than him both mentally and physically late in his career. I understand you loved your son Earl, but what would you say about him nowadays? Even when this commercial was first released I found your praise about Tiger incredibly arrogant and short sighted. I think time has proven you wrong Earl.

    Stephen Flynn Tiger Woods just got cut from PGA championships 2015. It has now been 7 long years since his last slam title. Yes he hasn't given up, and I agree with you there. But the Tiger that was hasn't been sighted for a very long time. His game has holes both physically, emotionally, and mentally. Maybe he will win another major again one day, it's entirely possible, and amazing comebacks have happened in sports. But even if Tiger does win one more, it doesn't change the fact that his legacy as the heir apparent to Jack has taken a significant hit. It also doesn't change the fact that Tiger is not the same mentally as he once was all those years ago. Nowadays he is so insecure and unsure of his abilities on the course. He makes shockingly sad mistakes over and over again. Every year he goes without a major win is another year that I will look at this man and shake my head. He continues to work at his craft but that alone doesn't always guarantee success at the highest of levels. At some point even the greatest of champs needs to realize that the sport they love has passed them by and it's time to find a new passion in life. I'm not saying that Tiger should give up, but I stand by my opinion that he is pretty much a shell of himself. He is finished in my opinion and he would have to play himself back into the top 15 and win at least 3-4 more majors for me to really change my mind. But that's just me. Respect your opinion too, but I disagree just like you.

  • @SPbaseball3
    @SPbaseball39 жыл бұрын

    Last time I checked nobody has 14 majors and 79 career wins in this modern day besides the greats like jack Nicklaus and Sam Snead. Tiger is one of the greatest athletes on this earth. He brings more profit to one round of golf than Jordan Speith, Rory,Day, and Johnson combined
